This is so helpful to see the breakdown of different types of curriculum, supplementary workbooks, and review sheets. Thanks so much for doing this video ❤

Of course! Happy to do it! I thought it might be helpful, as it was a little overwhelming and confusing for me too when I first looked at the math mammoth website. Now that I’ve used two of her programs I understand it a lot better now! I hope I brought a little more clarity to others looking at it for the first time! 🥰

@@MaryBarfield so overwhelming when you look at their site for the first time. You kind of miss all of the goodness they have to offer.

I have two doing math with confidence (2nd and K) and one doing math mammoth (1st). My first started out with MWC 1st but started hating pretty quick and so I switched to MM. We brought the printed B&W edition from Rainbow resources, they don't include the chapter tests in the A and B books. I believe they have bundle on rainbow resources that has work texts A and B and the test booklet. They also have color and black and white editions, I just did black and white to save money.

That's great to know about the physical copy not including the chapter tests. Thank you for telling us about the Rainbow resources bundle! It's so funny how different math programs work for different kids, but so grateful for so many options as homeschoolers! :)

@@MaryBarfield Depending on how my first grader does this year with Math mammoth, I am considering switching my oldest next year. I have 4 kids and math mammoth just seems a bit quicker to utilize then MWC.

We do MWC and have math mammoth too. We typically do MM first then the MWC lesson! I’m trying to decide if I should drop one 😂

I do like doing both and feel like my daughter likes it too but I do agree they compliment each other too!
@MaryBarfieldАй бұрын
I know a lot of people combine them because of how well they work together! Maybe one will start to work better or your daughter will gravitate towards one over the other, so you can simplify and use only one.

I have newly 7 year old twins that are about to finish 2nd grade MWC. We love the curriculum and plan to continue with it, but I was hoping to supplement with another program (because we school year round and I don't want my kids getting too far ahead grade wise). We tried BA and while they did great with Level 1, it wasn't the best fit and I'm thinking of trying MM instead. I definitely don't want to do a 2nd full curriculum, but I’ve overwhelmed by all the products she offers. How would you use MM as a supplement to MWC? I was thinking of having them take the end of year grade 2 test, and then use that to guide me in choosing Blue series topics. I know MM is more rigorous/ahead of MWC, so I'm sure that the end of year test will show some "gaps" (likely just things they haven't gotten too). But I’m also intrigued by the Skills Review Workbook, Review Workbooks, and Test & Cummulative Reivews. I’d love to know how you would use the two??

I think the Blue Series would be a great review, supplement if there are specific topics your twins need additional support in (and it could extend their math since you year round school). If you are looking for a single page review of the lessons being taught in 2nd grade (your twins could do it as a warm up prior to their MWC Lessons), then the Skills Review Workbook be a good option. You could also use the Skills Review Workbook over the summer months as a review of the topics you just covered that school year, but also as a bridge into the following school year. I am filming a video that compares and contrasts MWC to MM, and I will also talk about how we use both in our homeschool to "compliment" each other. That should be out in the next week or two. I think taking the free EOY Test on her website is a great start to see what topics they may need additional review on to help guide you in which direction to go.

Math with confidence grade 2 is when word problems and mental math get heavy in the curriculum.
