I’m 15 and I’m trying to learn this early because I want to be a vet. I’m shadowing a vet for a non-profit in my area so I want to know how to do this in case I’m asked any questions on it. This helped a lot. It makes so much sense now. Thank you so much.

Which Pharmacology textbook are you using for the v/v and w/w calculation?
for example 1 > "Sasha Velour" 25lb divided 2.2 = 11.36 (the dose being 22mg/kg) .... But why are the other examples also using, divided by 2.2 with different dosages of medicines? or is everything 2.2 by default? (im also using this as a pre-study of college courses, so thank you!)
@Kidchara2 жыл бұрын
You use 2.2 to convert it to kg. Always 2.2. For the example even if the dog was 90 pounds you would still divide by 2.2
@BurnsiesRVTVids2 жыл бұрын
If the weight was in lbs we divide by 2.2 to acquire the weight in kg :)

I'm starting college soon for veterinary assistant and I'm still trying to figure out how you get 2.2 in the first two examples when you divided the lbs with it.
@jaydamclaren72572 жыл бұрын
1 lb is equal to 2.2kg, its always that way. So if you need to convert pounds to kg, you always divide by 2.2. Or you can go from kg to lbs, by going kg x 2.2 = lbs

Practical example 2 is wrong. at first you stated dose the hydro at 0.5mg/kg, when you explain the question your text turns it into 0.05mg/kg hydro dosing.
@BurnsiesRVTVids2 жыл бұрын
Interesting... 0.5mg/kg is definitely not a hydro dose we would use. Thanks for catching that!
