Matheran A to Z : Complete Guide to explore Matheran Hill station in Budget

Matheran is a hill station, near Mumbai & Pune. It’s known for its mild climate and well-preserved colonial architecture.
Here are some of the fun facts related to Matheran :
1. Matheran is one of the smallest hill station in India yet one of the most popular. Because it's Asia only automobile free zone. So, no 2-wheeler,3 wheeler or 4 wheeler & pure nature.
2. There is no Online booking facility for the toy train.Ticket will be available only at the counter at Aman Lodge.
3.Only 60 seats are available in second class & you can't travel standing (:
4. The name Toy Train name is spot on as its speed is very very slow.
5. Strangely, there is no echo in Echo Point because of wide open area
6. People prefer narrow- gauge toy train trek instead of road to visit matheran by food. Because everyone else is doing it😛
In reality track distance is smaller than by road distance

Want to inform you if you reach to neral before 10:30 so go to sherwal medical you will get bus timing is 10:30 it will drop you to matheran on at 25 rupees and last bus from matheran is at 6 pm so instead of giving 200 to taxi driver for return journey only 50 rupees needed for return travel

Don't exactly know the distance, but it takes around 45 min - 1 hour of walk from aman lodge to Matheran Station (There is again a lot to walk after matheran station to main attractions, if you don't opt for horse,etc)

From Neral to Aman lodge you can take and then after that you can park the cycle .Because Matheran Road is full of stone and Ig I have not seen a single cycle at trek point. Hope your doubt is cleared.
