Mathew Knowles opened up to VladTV about his new book, Racism from the Eyes of a Child, which he hopes sparks a dialogue about colorism and social courage.
During the conversation, Mathew spoke about his various experiences with racism while growing up in Alabama in the 1950s. He explained that while he secretly dated white girls in junior high, his principle scolded him deeply when his secret was found out. Moving on to college, Mathew spoke about being benched from the basketball team after it was discovered he was dating a white woman, and then going to Fisk, an all-black school that had a "brown paper bag test."

No, actually it's not rare. There are plenty of extremely educated and poised Black men and women, but you have to look outside the mainstream media presentations to find them.

Hey Vlad, y'all, lemme jump in! I like Megan Thee Stallion a lot, adore her! Does she pass or fail the brown paper bag test? What about the aesthetic of the beautiful video for 'Realer' featuring her gorgeous light skinned team (in afro wigs, btw)? What I wanna know is whether the music industry put the director in charge of doing her right or wrong long term? It's not just that one video but do you see what I'm saying? Megan is strong enough to take Cardi and/or Nicki out but will they let her?

I didn't know Fisk was doing the brown paper bag test. Somebody needs to verify or challenge this accusation. I wonder how many institutions were doing this. I thought it was just a social thing for procreation.
