Cochin International Airport, known as CIAL, was once the third-largest airport in India in terms of passenger traffic. However, its ranking and performance have declined sharply in recent years. As India’s first airport developed under a public-private partnership, it is now facing significant challenges. The majority stakeholders, including the state government, have been appointing IAS and IPS officers as heads, similar to political appointees, which has impacted the airport’s future prospects and contributed to its decline.

IAS officers are just cowards who has no courage if they don't have power. You will understand this if you check these kinds of people from school days. They only focus on studies and lack basic common sense. They don't know how to manage things. Beacuse they are not trained for it.

എടാ മരപ്പൊട്ടൻ മാത്തുക്കുട്ടി വെറുതെ കുര്യനെ പഴി പറയാതെ. എറണാകുളം കളക്ടറായിരുന്ന കുര്യനെ ഒതുക്കാനും ആ സ്ഥാനത്ത് തോമസ് മാത്യുവിനെ കൊണ്ടുവരാനും ഒരു മന്ത്രി പുത്രി കളിച്ചതിൻ്റെ ബാക്കി പത്രമായിരുന്നു കുര്യൻ്റെ എയർപോർട്ട് ചുമതല.പബ്ളിക് - പ്രൈവറ്റ് പാർട്ടിസിപ്പേഷനിൽ ഒരു എയർ പോർട്ട് - അതൊരു ദിവാസ്വപ്നമായി നിൽക്കുമെന്ന് കരുതി ടിയാനെ ഒരുക്കാനും പഴിക്കാനും വേണ്ടിയാണ് അത് തലയിൽ വച്ചു കൊടുത്തത്. പക്ഷേ എല്ലാ കണക്കുകൂട്ടലുകളും തെറ്റിച്ച് അയാൾ കഠിനാദ്ധ്വാനം ചെയ്ത് എയർപോർട്ട് പ്രാവർത്തികമാക്കി. അയാളാൽ കഴിയുന്ന രീതിയിൽ അത് ഡെവലപ്പ് ചെയ്തു. കുറേ വർഷം അയാൾ ചുമതലയിൽ ഇരുന്നു. ടിയാൻ ആവശ്യപ്പെട്ടിട്ടല്ലല്ലോ ഇത്രയും വർഷം അയാൾ അവിടിരുന്നത്. കഴിവുള്ള വേറെയാളുകളെ തലപ്പത്തേക്ക് കൊണ്ടു വരാതിരുന്നിട്ട് കുര്യനെ മരപ്പൊട്ടനെന്ന് വിളിക്കുന്നത് മാന്യതയല്ല'

അതിന് ഇങ്ങേര് പറയുന്നതിൽ എന്തെങ്കിലും വാസ്തവം ഉണ്ടോ. ഭാവി വികസനതിന് കരുതിവച്ച സ്ഥലം വെറുതെ കിടക്കുന്നതിലും നല്ലത് അല്ലേ സോളാർപാനൽ വെക്കൽ. ബിസിനസ് ടെർമിനലും ഗോൾഫും ഒകെ മൊത്തം സിറ്റിക്ക് ഉപകാരപ്പെടുന്ന പദ്ധതികൾ തന്നെയല്ലേ. ഇങ്ങേരുടെ വേറെ ഒരു വീഡിയോയിൽ കണ്ടിരുന്നു പുതിയ പാലക്കാട് കോഴിക്കോട് ഗ്രീൻഫീൽഡ് പാത കോയമ്പത്തൂർ എയർപോർട്ടിന് വേണ്ടി ആണത്രേ. നിലവിലെ nh966 ൻ്റെ ബ്ലോക്ക് ഒരുതവണ അനുഭവിച്ചിട്ടുണ്ട് എങ്കിൽ ഈ പൊട്ടത്തരം പറയില്ല. മാത്രമല്ല ഒരു പുതിയ ഹൈവേ തന്നെ ഉണ്ടാക്കാൻ മാത്രം പ്രാപ്തിയുള്ള വരാണ് കോയമ്പത്തൂർ എയർപോർട്ട് ഉണ്ടാക്കുന്നതെങ്കിൽ ആരായിരിക്കും അത്രയും വലിയ ഫണ്ട് ഇറക്കുന്ന ഇൻവെസ്റ്റർ.

എയർപോർട്ടിനടുത്തുള്ള തൻ്റെ സ്ഥലത്തിന് വില കൂടാത്തതുകൊണ്ടുള്ള കലിപ്പ് ! സ്റ്റിംഗ് ഓപ്പറേഷനിലൂടെ ലോകം മുഴുവൻ കീഴടക്കി എന്നു പറഞ്ഞ് ഞെളിഞ്ഞു നടക്കുന്ന ഇയാൾ പറയുന്നതിൽ പകുതിയും തെറ്റായ കാര്യങ്ങളാണ്. നിലവിൽ കേരളത്തിലെ ഏറ്റവും നല്ല എയർ പോർട്ട് കൊച്ചി തന്നെയല്ലേ? ഇപ്പോൾ നിലവിലുള്ള കോയമ്പത്തൂർ എയർപോർട്ടി നന്തു മാഹാത്മ്യമാണുള്ളത്.? കോയമ്പത്തൂരിൽ വരാൻ പോകുന്ന ഒരു സംഭവം വച്ച് CIAL നെ compare ചെയ്യുന്ന ഇയാളല്ലേ മരപ്പൊട്ടൻ !! പത്താം ക്ലാസ്സിൽ തോൽക്കുന്നവർക്കൊക്കെ IAS കാരോട് ഇത്തരം അസൂയ സ്വാഭാവികം മാത്രം.

കോഴിക്കോട് പാലക്കാട് ഗ്രീൻ ഫീൽഡ് ഹൈവേ ഉണ്ടാക്കുന്നത് കോഴിക്കോടിനെ പാലക്കാടുമായി ബന്ധിപ്പിക്കാനുള്ള മോഹം കൊണ്ടൊന്നുമല്ല. ഹൈവേ പോയി ചേരുന്നത് പാലക്കാട് ടൗൺ കഴിഞ്ഞു കോയമ്പത്തൂർ ഭാഗത്താണ്. അത് തന്നെ യഥാർഥ ഉദ്ദേശം വ്യക്തം. ഈ ഹൈവേ വരണ്ടത് കോയമ്പത്തൂരിന്റെ ആവശ്യമാണ്. മംഗലാപുരം മുതൽ കോഴിക്കോട് വരെ ഉള്ളവർക്ക് കൊച്ചിയേക്കാൾ വേഗത്തിൽ കോയമ്പത്തൂരിൽ എത്തൻ പറ്റും. ടെർമിനൽ 3 ൽ,, ഫുട്ബാൾ കളിക്കാനുള്ള സ്ഥലം വെറുതെ A/C ഇട്ട് തണുപ്പിച്ചു നിർത്തിയിട്ടുണ്ട്,, ഒരു പ്രേത ഗൃഹം പോലെ തോന്നുന്നു ഞാൻ കഴിഞ്ഞ 15ന് ഇറങ്ങിയപ്പോൾ കണ്ടതാണ് പിന്നെ ടിക്കറ്റ് കൗണ്ടർ പോലെ കുറച്ചു എമിഗ്രേഷൻ റൂമുകളും,, എല്ലായിടത്തും ഒരു നിശബ്ദത,, ഒറ്റക്കണേൽ പേടിച്ചു പോവും

കൊച്ചി എയർപോർട്ട് ആദ്യം നമ്മൾ ഏതിർക്കും പിന്നെ നമ്മൾ അത് കൊണ്ട് അഭിമാനിക്കും. പിന്നേ അതു തകരും. ആ ഗോൾഫ് കോഴ്സ് ഒരു വേസ്റ്റ് ആണ്. വല്ലപ്പോഴും മാത്രം പ്രോഗ്രാം നടക്കുന്ന ഒരു ലുലു കൺവെൻഷൻ സെന്റർ ഉണ്ട് അതിലും ഭേദം ഷോപ്പിംഗ് മാളും തീയേറ്ററും ആയിരുന്നു.അത്താണി ജംഗ്ഷൻ നിലെ ചായക്കടകൾ ആണ് ഹാപ്പനിങ് പ്ലേസ് 😅.അവിടെ ഓപ്പണ് ഒരു സ്റ്റേജ് ഉണ്ടാക്കി വച്ചിട്ടുണ്ട് അതിനു പിന്നിലാണ് ഓപ്പൺ മൂത്രപ്പുര 😅.ആ സ്റ്റേജിൽ എന്തു മൈ ആണാവോ നടക്കാറുള്ളത്. ബാംഗ്ലൂർ ഹൈദ്രബാദ് എയർ പോർട്ട്‌ കൾ കണ്ടു പഠിക്കുക.

You are thoroughly mistaken. Construction in the vicinity of airport is restricted. The golfcourse and solar power farm are installed in the land that cannot be used for any other purpose due to restrictions by the DGCA. As the idea of aerocity is concerned, an airport operator alone cannot decide its making. Moreover the investment is very heavy. The aerocity of Delhi seems to have violated the basic safety rules and is a threat to the landing aircraft due to its negative influence on the most modern electronic navigation and landing aid. Blind landing is difficult in Delhi though the system is in place for continued operation during winter. Whoever comes to the helm of the airport management , the regulations are to be followed. Ofcourse there are instances of corner-cutting , but nobody will support as there is legal binding.

താങ്കൾ പറഞ്ഞത് കുറയൊക്കെ ശരി ആണെകിലും കേരളത്തിൽ ഒരു ഡസ്റ്റിനേഷൻ hub നു വേണ്ടി ചിലവ് ചെയ്തു പണം കളയാൻ മാത്രമേ പറ്റുള്ളൂ. ആൾകാർ വരാൻ ഇവിടെ ഇൻഡസ്ട്രിയൽ ഡെവലപ്മെന്റ് ഇല്ല ഒള്ളത് പൂട്ടി കെട്ടി കൊണ്ടിരിക്കുമ്പോൾ ആരു വന്നു ബിസ്സിനെസ്സ് കൊടുക്കും. ഗൾഫ് കാർ പണം ചിലവാകുകയില്ല. ഒരു commercial study ആവശ്യമാണ്.

ഒരു എയർ പോർട്ടിന് വേണ്ടത് കൂടുതൽ സ്ഥലം ഉപയോഗിക്കുക എന്നതാണ്. ഗോൾഫ് കോഴ്സ് ഒക്കെ വല്ല റിമോട്ട് സ്ഥലത്തും വേണം. സോളാർ പാനൽ എല്ലാം പറിച്ച് കെട്ടിടത്തിൻ്റെ മുകളിൽ ആക്കുക. ആ സ്ഥലം കൂടി എയർ പോർട്ടിന് ഉപയോഗിക്കുക. ഇനി ഉള്ള കാലത്ത് മിനിമം രണ്ട് റൺവേ എങ്കിലും ഉണ്ടാവണം. എന്നാലെ സമയം ലാഭിക്കാനും കൂടുതൽ സർവ്വീസുകൾ നടത്താനും പറ്റുകയുള്ളു.

There is no connectivity by train or metro. For international travel it is very inconvenient with luggages. Bengaluru airport has multiple connectivity like vayu vajra, Demu trains, taxis and ubers. Either we should travel by own car or by paying huge taxi charge for domestic or international travel through Cochin. The bus services available are not reliable in my opinion.

It would be great if Cochin International Airport (CIAL) prioritize the acquisition of land and construction of a second runway before the next scheduled resurfacing of the current runway. Failure to do so may result in the loss of a significant portion of current services, which could be shifted to nearby airports. This would have a negative impact on CIAL's operations and revenue.

Yes bro, land waisted for solar, it can be on top of the building, and I had a very bad experience, once you enter the compound, no place for a snack and tea, there can be many food stalls, with strict guidelines.(economy).

Sir, AAI does manage airports in India, under Ministry of Civil Aviation. State government too are involved in providing land, doing joint ventures etc. Some airports are also run by public -private consortiums, like Bangalore airport.
