I shot both of these bows today and ended up choosing the V3 over the Ventum 33, Rx-5, and elite remedy. This video is helpful for all of us before we shoot and get the different feels. But there is nothing compared to actually going to an outfitter and using these rigs yourself. The Hoyts had the smoothest draw but the V3 felt the most stable to me even without a stabilizer, it also had the least aggressive after release feeling. It was the last of the 4 I tested and only took 2 shots before I made the decision.

There’s plenty of great bows out there , pick one and get good with it . My last Hoyt is still running after 20 years but the new one is clearly better . I ll shoot any bow set up for me and be happy .

My two week old V3-31 exploded due to faulty a cable. String was still attached to the release. Damaged the paint on the limbs and forever ruined my confidence in the bow. Had to Mathews S2 when they came out and both ate cables like crazy. Chill R had the worst cam lean I’ve ever experienced. Back to Hoyt I go.

It always sounds like you’re whispering to me on your vids. 😂 I love a rounded grip. To me it locks in better than a square back. A square back causes more torque and inconsistencies in grip form for me.

The more round the grip the more it can 1. Roll side to side, and 2. The more you want to grab it which leads to more torque instead of just letting it sit in your hand with a flat square grip with its more surface area. If you shoot a round grip good then that’s great but with proper form the flat will be more consistent by far

I have the V3 27 and my cousin has the Ventum 30. I like the draw of the Ventum better but the V3 27 feels much better to me in the hand and at the release. I like the compact size in the stand as well. I love both bows. Shoot them all. All these flagship bows are so sick!

It’s a good thing Mathews has several options on grips. I wouldn’t sell one based off of it. The ultraview grip is flat on the back and would definitely change the way it feels. Good job Hoyt you’re making steps in the right direction. Maybe the Hoyt is more dead and the hand and more stable because there is an actual stabilizer on it?? Just my thoughts. Maybe throw it on the Mathews and leave the Hoyt without it and compare them.

@@HaxenHunt another thing I’ve noticed with Mathews is they can come in pretty hot when it comes to weight. Did you check them side by side to see if they were the same? My 60# mods were pulling 67. I had no idea until the shop told me.

As always, I appreciate your honest review, and not just another Mathews homer on youtube. I have to agree with you. Afer shooting most of the new bows for 2021 the Hoyt Ventum, Prime Nexus 4 , and the PSE EVL 34 are the 3 top bows for 2021 hands down.

Well I remember last years video of the VXR,YOU had to take the grip off.Mathews always had grip issues leading to torque issues.also I noticed every time you drew the Mathews there was an audible"thiunk"when you hit full draw.nah not the microphone,I'm sure.

That Mathews grip is garbage. I cannot believe they’re still using it. Keep it thin and square it off. Quit using the rounded off edges. I shoot lights out whenever I don’t torque it.

@@HaxenHunt For a few reasons, 1. I thought the riser was kind of unfinished, didn’t like the square edges. 2. The cam lean is off the charts, more than any bow I’ve seen in years. 3. I don’t like how my draw 29.5 is slower than a draw a full inch shorter. 4. Plastic shims... it’s 2021 and this is a flagship bow, that’s cheesy Hoyt.
