Thank you for the moments of transparency in this episode. This is why I continue to create space to hold for my brothers who are challenged and in need of support. Circumstances don’t make the man, they reveal the man. Mahalo for all y’all do over there. Keep the convo’s flowing 🤙🏾

Im not sure why men take to heart having a rainy day fund. My grandmother was a whole married women and recommended that. It was birthed from women being left high and dry if a man left them for another family and they didnt work. I always say if i got married and was blessed to have a husband to pay the bills i would educate myself, still work so i had some marketable skills, and take my check and save and invest it. It doesnt have to be for divorce. Your husband could be disabled and lose his income and now you cant keep up your lifestyle. Its financially irresponsible to not save money i dont care what the reason is. You have to stop being with women who dont mean you any good. You get what you pick.

I think she referred to it as an "escape fund".

Your second part is why people had an issue. The husband lost his income through no fault of his own, and she still kept the stash secret, she did not tell him she had siphoned this money off into another account, and he was making himself physically sick trying to make up for the income he had before.

Exactly why you shouldn't give any women dough ever. Each person contributes to the household. Been married 16 years to a women I met in College as my Professor. Always had separate bank accounts because we see $ different. I see $$$ as a means to an end, $$$ is not the end. I don't save just for the sake of saving. 6:03 Word Mecc & props because that's how it got to be. Each person holds their weight, spends/saves how they want and keep other people out of your relationship. Communication is Key.

The problem is that most men get into a relationship thinking that the woman has their back the same way they have theirs. Women look out for themselves men need to do the same but at the same time make sure you provide for your household but always stay on your guard.

We always have to a plan because life is unpredictable.Suppose the husband dies or someone is ill?All women should have vex money.Especially if you have kids. And women bring a lot to the table. Men just have to stop thinking it's always material.

Her stashing money shouldn’t be a problem……as long as it’s HER money being stashed and not his.

Now if she had worked for it her self it’s nothing wrong with her stashing her money

If she has my kids, I won't mind her stacking my money because she's gonna use it on the kids. If she doesn't have my kids, then I agree with you.

The stash money situation was much deeper, because her husband had been working a great job, lost it due to some form of injury, and was providing for her to be a stay at home. He was working multiple jobs trying to get back, and was physically breaking down, and she didn’t tell him that she had money in savings to try to relieve some of the stress and pressure on him. She was still a stay at home, and he was working to still provide. By all the info we had available, he was a hard worker and provider and she watched him suffer.

I despise ppl who expect others to live up to their standards. Secret stashing $30,000 behind your spouse’s back is not healthy. Furthermore, the fact that his “wife” did it behind his back makes it worse. To blame her husband for feeling a way, is Class A gaslighting.
