Jay is cool, but cmonnnn, everyone who isn’t under Jay (directly) knows Nas is way better. Em is better. Pac, BIG, Big Pun, Big L, Rakim, Kool G Rap, Big Daddy Kane, Andre 3K, Cam’ron, JADAKISS. Niggaz who are linked to Jay today are all the same. I’ve never seen niggaz nut hug a man so crazy. The “Ether” Vs “Takeover” & the “Renegade” debates are my favorite. “Jay won that”, “Takeover was the better diss track”, “Jay killed Em on it”. Only niggaz that Jay feeds feel as such. Go back & listen to “Renegade”, Em DEMOLISHED & BURIED that feature. I get that “Takeover has more replay value, in the sense that it’s a record that you can play in the club, while driving, vibe to it etc. but Ether? Ether is a song that you play when getting ready & going to war. & that’s what it was, a war. It was war time & Ether delivered. That track bothered Jay so much, it touched his insecurities so crazy that he never featured Em on another song. “Eminem murdered you on your shit”, keep in mind, I’m not Eminem fan, so this isn’t biased. But go ahead & go back to that song & tell me that Jay was the stand out act on it. Please lie to me & tell me that his verse was better than Em in any way. I’ll wait... Jay is a man that was willing to do any & everything to get ahead. He was willing to screw over & leave behind anyone to get up top. & that’s ok. The business world is a cut-throat world where only the witty & slimy survive. You want to argue that Jay is the greatest business man in rap? No argument. You got that. Rapper, EmCee, Musician? No fucking way! A lot of the rappers mentioned either came up in the wrong era. Weren’t being pushed by a machine, didn’t have the funds to do for self, got sabotaged, died or just didn’t want to get to the next level of popularity & fame. I’ll give you guys a great example. & this is shit that I know first hand. Cam’ron was basically Jay’s artist/ label-mate while at Roc-A-Fella. Jay saw Cam as a threat. Killa had the music, the look, the attention, & the business mind to take it to the next level. But Jay sabotaged his career. Gave him the feature on “Come Home With Me” but refused to do the video & make it a single for the record. Refused to back him & give him the extra push. You see Jay on tracks/ videos with everyone at Roc-A-Fella, except Cam. He was on “What We Do”, cameoed on Peedi’s track “Flipside” & pretty much anything else in the Roc, but you never saw him in anything that had to do with Killa & the Diplomats. Got Killa’s verse on “One For Peedi” erased. & when “Purple Haze” was set for release he didn’t push it one bit. Then when Killa dropped one of the most underrated diss tracks of all time “You Gotta Love It” he refused to react or respond just to avoid giving him any sort of traction. Same with Jadakiss. Why? Cause he knows he couldn’t fuck with them. Jay is one flawed, insecure man. So all this praise is bought. “Blueprint”, “Reasonable Doubt”, “The Black Album” & “4:44” are all albums I keep in rotation, so this isn’t some “you hate Jay & that’s why” type of situation, no. This is facts in my eyes & in the eyes of those who aren’t in Jays payroll. Better than Nas?? Relax Clark. Pun had the ill pressure put on homie & the Devils Son was something he couldn’t fuck with on any day of the year Rant over

Clark is on some witty shit (jigga) versus that poetry (Nasir), witty shit doesn't pass the test of time. Me personally, if we’re just talking raps & not overall MC skills then Nas is the best rapper of the three (Best Rapper EVER). As for MCing (Microphone Controller or someone that can move a crowd like Rakim once said) then I’d give it to Jigga. Maybe if BIG could’ve gave us more if he didn’t get his life cut short but we’ll never know. 🤷🏿‍♂️

DJs then used to introduce the world to what's hot. They had a place. DJs now just play what's hot. The Drama raid was the end of that era.

i 100% agree with the rapper vs mc part in regards to Biggie and Jay... everytime i hear BIG say "This goes out to those who chose to use disrespectful views on the King of NY" i feel like thats the best shit ever. like no one else could say that shit and it sound that good. Then i look at Jay-Z second verse on "D'evils" and all i can do is shake my head in disbelief in how effortlessly he painted that picture with constant use of entendres.

@@elliot2177 i think BIG is a rapper and a MC i think Jay is a rapper and a MC. im speaking regards to the argument about who was better at what. Jay is a better MC cuz i think he's more clever with his wordplay metaphors entendres etc. BIG was a better rapper cuz he could say some simple shit but make it sound amazing. Like clark said " williest, bitches be the silliest the more i smoke the smaller the Philly gets" or "game so tight they call me virgin" aint nothing spectacular technical anything about them bars that can be deciphered or need to be figured out but when he said it it just sounded fire af.

@@_unclecharles_ he said deeper shit than that virgin line.lmaooo.Come on.Notorious Thugs was all mcing.Jay is not better.BIG is a mc what do you mean?Fast rapper does not mean an mc.lol.Jay rap faster in some cases but that does not make him an mc.MC means move the crowd.Envoke feelings, paint pictures...BIG lyrics were visual.Niggas Bleed was not rapping. That shit was a saga.I think you and Clark has to re-listen to BIG..

I'm from Florida and I consider myself an Mc. My bars made God put out the Sun, said I was hot enough to light the earth for five millenniums. 😆 Anyway I was spitting crazy like that in 2001. New York rappers are what I aspired to be like. Especially DMX , especially, Nas, The Wu Tang. Definitely was a feeling, I studied Life after Death from B.IG. Still today I'm 40 and I will always credit to the lyrics. Not to Mention Hov
