I met Big, Cease and Kim back in 95 when me and my crew Dirty Timbs opened up for Big at North Carolina A&T homecoming. I've met a lot of artists and celebrities across genres since then but they were easily the coolest ones I've met. Cease took all his clothes off and chased some groupies around the hotel while Big gave us some weed that knocked me out until the next afternoon. I hit that shit and said "Ayo we in high school!" and Big laughed his ass off. One of the happiest moments of my life but we didn't have enough time or money to get a verse from him. RIP Big.

@@mpix00 Well unfortunately, our crew leader was killed in the flooding that hit North Carolina the following year and we kinda fell apart after that as a group. As far as I know, none of our music was posted online but I could be wrong. Actually, there was a downside to that night Our beat tape we used to perform went "missing" and then two of those beats went on to become Bad Boy associated hits the very next year. I don't like accusing people without proof so I won't say which songs but it's very suspicious.

That was his mans....took him out of poverty. My father is the best dad in the world. I would hope others would say that about their Dad. Big was unbelievably dope especially the fact that he birth a lot of rappers and did it at a time where rap was incredibly simple both is influence and mechanics. Its like when the first commercial planes came out. There were planes before but nobody was tryna hop on a wright brothers product. He elevated a whole scene thats prevalent today.

Yeah man, Biggie was MY era, he was a RAPPERS RAPPER. No fillers, no fluff. Just heavy bars, delivery, cadence, and a seamless flow in every bar. I 13 Years old when Ready to Die released, I was 16 when Biggie passed. He was the SOUNDTRACK to my Golden Years. It's hard to believe his run was only 3 short years. Year's felt longer in the 90's.

Biggie’s “Fuck Me” interlude definitely was one of the best interludes for any album 😂 especially with the Jodeci playing In the background. We never got a Biggie and Jodeci song because Suge linked up with them and put them on The “Murder Was The Case Soundtrack” another classic. But once Puffy found out about this, he cut Jodeci off, thus him discovering 112, who made classics with Biggie, while Jodeci made classics with 2pac

Maybe not the BEST lyrically...But, he checks off MOST boxes.. Honorable mention: The late Prodigy, Biggie, Redman, Raekwon, AZ, Big Pun, Busta, Em, Jada Kiss, Styles P, OC, and Big Daddy Kane....

How about Rakim's first two albums Paid In Full and Follow The Leader? What about KRS's Criminal Minded and By All Means Necessary? LL's Radio and BAD? Em's Slim Shady LP and Marshall Mathers LP? Yeah, there were a few cats who's freshman and sophomore albums could compete with BIG's. And there're a lot I left off. Sincerely big is the greatest rapper that ever stepped on this earth and I am happy I was born at the time and gew up with my guys as a kid in the hood to his music . I rene8 1994 went upstairs my childhood friend's house akin George older nigga used to teach me and my brother and his cousin he stayed with upstairs how to dance running man and vanilla ice steps and all ,then he popped a new compact disc in the big steareo player in thier living room abd told us listening to this guy the notorious big his the hottest newest music artist taking over america at the moment he played the album from track one the intro and I first heard bigs voice looking at the baby cover and going throghy the album disc booklet and I heard biggies voice for the first time and song and from that moment in 1994 till date he became my best rapper of all time, r.i.p Christopher Wallace notorious big 🔥🔥🔥.

Cease is supposed to say Biggie is the greatest of all time, that was his man. And Biggie is absolutely one of the best of all time but if we’re being objective about it Nas is the best. He also checks every box. His first 2 albums were Illmatic & IWW, his 2 latest albums over 20 years later is Magic & KD3, who else has done that?

The only albums that compare to nas first two is biggie first two albums.
@imthatdude5456
@imthatdude5456 Жыл бұрын
Nas wasn't well rounded at that time though! Illmatic was a hip hop album but biggie had r&b and hip hop and he rapped on west coast type beats biggie was kinda well rounded he could flip words like nas but still dumb it down and make a one more chance!! So yeah nas is dope far as lyrics but biggie is like a lebron! Tupac was well rounded too pac and biggie the only ones that could make hits and then keep it raw on the albums too
@spurs22
@spurs22 Жыл бұрын
@@imthatdude5456Nas was well rounded like that tho, IWW was considered a sell out album from Nas, If I ruled the world. And he did tracks with Mariah Carey & Mary J. Blige etc at that time. Also Biggie himself pretty much said Nas was the better lyricist
@imthatdude5456
@imthatdude5456 Жыл бұрын
@@spurs22 But where did nas get that formula from to do that? He got that formula from biggie!! But in my opinion nas best albums besides illmatic was from 1997 and up but nas to me became more poetic after big and pac died!! Stillmatic is definitely a classic but I think biggie and pac the most well rounded rappers in history! Nas does commercial albums but it seems forced! Biggie and 2pac just made songs flow naturally and it sounds organic
@spurs22
@spurs22 Жыл бұрын
@@imthatdude5456 yeah he definitely got that from BIG, Nas himself has admitted that. But Nas also influenced Biggie, Illmatic came out before Ready to die, and Nas came in to the scene a year before Biggie in 1991. Nas checks every box there is, and he’s still dropping great albums to this day. We don’t know if Biggie or Pac would’ve done that, we can only speculate. So I’m saying for that reason it’s unfair to Nas if you don’t have him in the number 1, if you consider everything
