Van Aert looked stronger than MVDP for the first couple of laps. One mistake and BOOM it's over.

No, Wout wasnt stronger. MVDP rides vs himself at another unseen level this early season in CX. Rest of the riders competes for#2 , #3 podium places.

VDP was 39 sec faster than Wout in lap 3.

@@nem3th MVDP himself said that Van Aert was setting the pace for the first few laps. Of course MVDP *was* stronger, because he won, but I specifically said that Van Aert looked stronger those first few laps - and he did. You could see the cadence suited him better, whereas MVDP wasn't as able to use as much explosive power with the grinding mud. Of course this doesn't mean MVDP wasn't strongest in the end.

@@o11378 Cyclocross appears to be a desperate, almost laughable attempt to maintain some form of cycling in the notoriously dismal weather of Northwestern Europe. It's as though enthusiasts, unable to accept the reality of their uninviting climate, have resorted to this peculiar, muck-laden version of the sport. It's an exercise in futility, a bizarre spectacle of bikes and riders slogging through mud, all to uphold the semblance of cycling joy in conditions that are anything but joyous.
