I'd imagine a lot of these "Myths" vary person to person. Especially when it comes to things like regret, sensations down there, and desire to have those kinds of activities. I'm not trans, but when I had a c-section with my daughter, the nerves in the area where they cut for the c-section never got their feeling back and there is a spot on my stomach that is still numb to this day. She's almost 12 years old now, so it was not recent. I know a c-section is not the same as SRS, but surgery is surgery and depending on your body, the surgeon, and other factors, there is a chance that some people might lose sensations in that area permanently. Probably not everyone, but there is a chance. I'd imagine researching your surgeon before going under the knife would probably help decrease those chances a lot though.
@ALT-vz3jn

Exactly. I had a tummy tuck and all the area around the scar is still numb 2 years later. Also had a breast reduction and regained full sensation in that area, and my scars disappeared completely. Very different results from each surgery, and I did the same scar management protocol. I’m super happy with my tummy tuck the aesthetic result is beautiful but the numbness is frustrating.

SRS healing takes circa 12 months; most of the healing occurs within the first 6 months. It is highly invasive surgery and there is a significant risk that things go wrong, requiring revision surgery. Such SRS was first performed in the 1950's in Denmark as pioneering surgery.

The biggest part of the survey you left out is this.Of the monitored MtF TSs only 40% completed the survey. The rest fallen off the radar.The second biggest part of the survey you didn't include is that is ALL based on self report, not any verifiable data. The third misconception in the survey is that it mainly reports about the satisfaction from the procedure, not the functionality of it. A fourth misconception about the SRS (not related to this specific survey)is that alleviates GD. The Very thorough, population wise, long term research on TSs in Sweden(the only ones of their kind) show no impact or even worsening of the problems they were meant to address.

For hundreds or thousand of years women were stigmatised because of their periods. We were and in many cultures to this day we are still told we are unclean, unholy. Periods and the pain of child birth is the curse for original sin. With this type of history please try to understand why some women will say to you how lucky you are for not having periods. For many women period pain makes them lose days or weeks of their lives monthly., imaging the psychology of preparing yourself for this every month. You don't understand because women's biological difficulties are often trivialised. Do you think if men had to go through a process such as childbirth that can kill them the phrase "women have been having children forever don't be so dramatic" would exist. Many women who have gone through the menopause say the best part is no having periods, because it's not a nice thing to experience every month. You pray to have your own biological children, I pray that medicine can help women to safely have less periods. Thank you for enlightening me about issues I did not know about, I could tell how uncomfortable this made you at times, but you are making it easier for those coming after you.

It's not this Far away The possibility of a uterine transplant is not only important for transsexual women. There are also women who were born without a uterus, or women who had their uterus removed due to an illness or injury. In January this year, Swedish surgeons performed uterine transplants on nine women. This is what CBS News reports.

In my opinion to say...OmG you don't know how lucky you are! It sounds like kind of a consolation or trying to make you feel better or good because you do not have to go through this horrible periods. More like a say, a way of saying I wish I didn't have to have this every month. I see it not as bad intention or mean. I even said it to my mom...like Aghh you are . lucky you don't have to have this anymore. The people that say this to you are not thinking about pregnancy or anything. they are thinking just of the annoyance of those days. They are probably not even connecting period with reproductive, because we have it since 11 or 12 or 13 years old , when had nothing to do with pregnancy . No one I am sure had ill intentions. You see it as a way to pregnancy. We most of our lives see it as an annoyance. I talk for all my friends and women I have known all my life. That is how we women think, is natural and common to complain about it.

Your should be happy for having periods, especially when they're regular, because they're a sign (and a kind of 'barometer' as well!) of women's overall health, especially hormonal. @@charocflores I'm not saying it's not annoying. But you can learn to appreciate it, in a sense that it's a good and healthy sign. Appreciate it while it lasts, it won't last forever. And when it's gone as you menopause, your dropping hormone levels will be followed by much more physical problems than period cramps. Our monthly cycles affect our whole bodies throughout the whole month, not just hormones, but also cardiovascular health, digestion, energy levels, concentration, etc. It's often underappreciated, but when we learn our biological monthly rhythm, we can use it to our advantage.

Women who tell you to be happy not getting periods probably just mean that it can come with some nasty „side effects“ like immense pain, dizzyness, sickness, headache and for some of us it‘s tough to go to work like this, especially if you have these side effects 6days/month. That is nothing to wish for. But yes, at the same time it‘s related to the wonderful ability to concieve& give birth. And to give birth is painful and sometimes quite brutal too when some tissues rip, break during the process. Watch a woman giving birth from A-Z, then you will know… Romantisizing female biological processes doesn‘t help anyone. But to see them as what they really are does help. And still I can understand a wish like dreaming of having a child. We all have dreams we can‘t realize. That‘s life and it can be hard to take reality, I know. But the sooner we realize that something is in no way possible, the sooner we can get over it and we can focus on sth else, something we can achieve, something we have and aren‘t yet aware of enough to appreciate etc. Good luck with all your achievable wishes & goals, May you get there:)

This video was pretty interesting. Glad you addressed some questions a lot of the other channels I watch for info transgendered people deal with normally skip over. I've always been curious about how trans vagina compares to cis vagina from the parter's perspective. So maybe if you make a future video, center it around your boyfriend answering questions. I've never measured the inside of a partner, but 15cm does seem pretty shallow. I actually wonder, could it cause structural harm if you were with someone that was "large" and they made the mistake of inserting themselves all the way? What exactly is immediately at the back of the canal where the cervix would be? Does this differ depending on the person? It maybe could even be a good video if you had a medical professional on to discuss the details with. Honestly, I think a lot of the reason men aren't willing to date trans-women is that we expect it not to feel or function the same as what we're used to. If it turned out it felt even better, then most men would probably give it a try just for that reason.
@SongMangosteen
@SongMangosteen 2 жыл бұрын
Where the cervix should be, it's the end of the "tube", it goes nowhere and is connected to nothing. And yes, structural harm can happen because it lacks the natural elasticity of a real vagina. It also lacks all of the muscle control that a real vagina has, so it can't compare to a real one.

You can wish for periods all you want, but as a bio female with endometriosis that has resulted in being cut open twice to remove massive cysts on my ovaries and the doc finding endometrial lesions in my pelvic cavity and pain attacks growing in frequency and severity over the past several years, I genuinely don’t want to hear it. I respect what you’re doing with you’re life to be who you feel you are, but seriously. Having a uterus for many women is absolute misery and with the pain and the impact endometriosis is having on living a full life at 25 years old, I have every right to tell you that YES, you are lucky that you can be a woman without the massive amount of physical ailments that I’m pretty sure 1 in 3 women have. I hate hate hate hearing this. Unless you can fathom having biology that may very well turn against you for the entirety you your childbearing years and be okay with the pain and scars and it may leave you while also robbing you of feeling like a functional woman, It’s so messed up to say that “cis-women” have no right to tell a trans woman how lucky they are that they don’t possess organs that wreck havoc on many women’s existences.enjoy what you have. Being a woman is more than just fetal incubation and wearing pretty things.

I agree with you for the most part; ovulation isn’t fun or something to be glorified. When trans people say they wish they could experience periods, they’re not saying it’s a fun and positive experience that they wish they could appropriate. They’re saying the idea that their body isn’t capable of pregnancy makes them dysphoric. I for one, am glad that I don’t have to experience that and the risks that come along with it, but I also understand why not experiencing it can be a trigger for some people’s dysphoria.

I had “ female” problems since my first period at 11 yrs old! 9:13 . Severe, excruciating pain for 5-7 days each month. Severe endometriosis that required surgery 11 x !! At the time the technology was not yet there. I’ve had 11 D&C procedures. Each time was pure hell! Finally had to get a hysterectomy ( total- incision from hip to hip) which took close to a yr to subside. When I was put on HRT, it was a dream come true. No more hemorrhaging every month. No more pain+ the ever present PMS symptoms. I had 6 pregnancies-/ only 3 went to full term. Sometimes you need to look at the context that a statement is in to understand why it’s being said. I think that in today’s “ politically correct, or incorrect has people almost afraid to say anything cause words get pulled apart beyond what makes sense. Cost: well, german statutory health insurance does cover it (you've got to run a gauntlet of bureaucracy for it, though), so I've never seen any bill. Reports from people with private insurance range about 30k EUR +/- 5k (in Germany). Thailand is cheaper, yes, but I doubt that it's that cheaper. Last time I heard from him Dr. Suporn (the god of GRS there) charged about 25k EUR. It's possible that some 'backyard clinic' does do it for 5000, but I wouldn't go there. Actually, all these myths were essentially true 30-years ago, which is why they persist as myths, despite advancements in science.

I somewhat wish science was faster (while not becoming unethical), as animal testing has (in 3 different projects) used stem cells to make valid sperm, stem cells to make valid eggs, and artificial wombs that can get mouse babies from day 0 fertilization to half or more of the term. Getting those three approved for humans will be huge for not just LGBT & disabled people, but also others that cannot currently have biological children.

You mite be able to answer a question for me. Is it possible to grow specific body parts from a persons stem cells ? Or even promote the growth of said body parts on the person.

@@DAVING0 Way above my amateur knowledge, but I know that we are in the process of being able to 3D print organs. I do not know if it uses stem cells or just regular DNA, but it is basically fast-growing your own organ which removes the possibility of it being rejected. As of 5-6 years ago, there was an issue in making sure they don't collapse/die without flowing blood through them, but I am pretty sure they are past that stage by now. A nifty side effect of this research is 3D printed meat products. You only need 1 cow to replace a farm full of cows, and there is no need for the muscle to be live-implanted, as it is just used for food~

@@unfortunatelyevil1767 This is amazing stuff. At some point there will be no need for anyone to kill animals for food. It seems like it would be a good thing for body dysmorphic people so they have full function without all the barbarity they have to go through. Thanks for your reply. I know this is a bit morbid but I'm fascinated with all this stuff. Iv not long learned about dysmorphia, its horrendous. It would be great if they had a fix that didn't come with any problems. Thanks for taking the time with your explanation. Cheers.
