Thank you for your explanation. It is clear and logical

Thank you, the method is much more clear now Is it normal that the video ends before the explanation is finished?

Too bad the video stops before we get to know the method to calculate those y vectors. Very helpful video nonetheless

What is h_kj ?
@daniel_an4 жыл бұрын
It the orthogonal (scalar) projection of Av_j to the vector v_k for k=1,...,j. In other words, you are subtracting the part of Av_j that can be represented by the previous vectors v_1 through v_j, and thus obtaining a vector in a new direction outside the span of the previous vectors

This was a graduate course, and it relies on knowing: Krylov method (which I have a different video on) and also Gram-Schmidt procedure of getting orthonormal basis from a basis. Sorry if it didn't make sense to you.

@@daniel_an The last I read about krylov subspace methods was around 1997. I still have some traces in mind. But frankly I was totally lost in the video. However, I agree with you in one point: I shouldn't judge a movie by seeing the last quarter. And in any case thanks for sharing your knowledge with the rest of the world.
