Well, that is the systematic method of solving equations. We all know that RHS = LHS. They both should be balanced. Compare it to a weight balance in shops. If we add equal weight in both of the sides, they remain balanced. Similarly, if we remove, multiply and divide equal weight from the sides, it remain balanced. In this case, RHS and LHS are the 2 sides of the weight balance. If we add,subtract,multiply, divide both the sides, it will be equal +p2o8wer If he subtracted 3x from each then 2x - 3x would be -x and 3x-3x = 0. It will be hard to solve but you can do it !

I don't even know if you have always solve like this, I'm from Brazil and I do a little bit different! When we get: 3x-6=2x+2. We go like this... Put all the "x to just on side: 3x-2x=2+6 so we go ahead and solve it all: 3x-2x=2+6 1x=8 so x=8/1

in math you always work from left to right unless you absolutely need to. So writing it the way you did is not wrong, but confusing for some people(depending on how theyve been taught) I was told the standard way is left to right.(Multiplying top to bottom) It should be (3)(x-2) = (2)(x+1) that way you multiply left 3x(x) = 3x and 3x2=6 = 3x-6
