It is repairable I have done it but it took several months and I had to over heat it even when the lamp is old its still awesome I had mine for several years had it on every day

I was heartbroken when I found out they don't ship to the US. All we have here are shitty cheap lamps which are good for about two weeks. Afterwards, the wax just sits at the bottom. It's a glorified nightlight, at this point.

@@applescruff1969 I ordered mine from California and first was was leaking, they sent out second one it was cloudy, third was lost in the mail and I got the fourth one still not so clear. They are made in China and are crap. I am sure the ones from UK are from China. Most of the products from China are made cheap they took the ideas from others and selling it back to us from cheap labour. They pay their slave factory people $1.50 a hour.

I would love to have a Mathmos lava lamp but unfortunately they do not currently ship to the US. I've checked into 3rd party shippers which seems to be a possibility. I contacted Mathmos about using their lamps in the US and they tell me using a 3rd party shipper will void the warranty. I'm wondering if it's worth the risk of losing the warranty in order to have the lamp ? I'm also wondering what are the chances of getting a defective lamp ?

Definitely not normal. Are you sure they are the correct bulbs?

@@DedicatedAngler There original Mathmos bulbs , I've sprayed some contact cleaner inside the lamp socket to see if it makes any difference. There are reports of problems occurring when the bulb fails to make contact correctly inside the holder because of it being quite sensitive. I do have it running a lot but never overheat the lamp.

Its best to leave it turned on for 2 hours before drinking. Your looking for a temp between red wine and hot chocolate don’t shake it it ruins the taste.

you ask us not to leave the lamp more than 6 hours, the moment we heat up, it takes 2 hours, then we leave it for watching or decoration for 4 hours then we must off it? heat up already takes 2 hours, so we can only leave the lamp more 4 hours, after that we should off it ?

No, Warming up (up to 2h) + 6h usage = max 8h total
