We require differentiability on the open interval, meaning it doesn’t need to be differentiable on the endpoints. 👍🏻

nwm i just checked my calculator any number that was negative was an error to which i presume all positive numbers work with a fractional power

Polynomials are continuous on all real numbers since that is their domain; other functions are typically continuous on their domains which may include restrictions. This is an important theorem covered in Calculus 1 when studying continuity.
