I think the spanish league was way more better in the 90's there are some teams that competing with Barcelona and Real Madrid La Coruna have a great team Betis was too good Sevilla that Maradona played too Valencia with Romario Ortega and other players Atletico Madrid with Vieri Simeone Stochkov Koeman in Barcelona Laudrup in Madrid Redondo Celta de Vigo was a great team back then Alaves that won against Liverpool of Owen in 2000 the best Yugoslavian players was playing in the Spanish league of 90's Bilbao was decent comparing the 90's Spanish League to the 2010's it's totally wrong was good only because of Cristiano and Messi and Barcelona and Real Madrid dinasty these days

@@ryol5587 Well, you think absolutely wrong my friend. The quality of football, strength of the teams is totally on Italian side. Their clubs were winning titles in almost all eruopean competitions, played so many european tournament's finals. Barcelona was also humiliated by Milan in 1994. Spanish league was good, but not as much as last two decades. Because in the last two decades you had Real, Barca, Atletico, Sevilla(winning Europe league every year, Valencia(2000's), Villarreal, Bilbao(also winning some titles). Spanish league was maybe very good before, but Italian was scientifically proven as the best. All the best players were coming there and the quality and beauty of football was happening exactly there.

As mentioned on another video, only 3 foreigners per team was a key feature. When that rule changed European club football lost its soul. The rule meant that only the very best imports were recruited, and that clubs retained some sort of national identity. A great loss in my opinion.

Very true my friend which many people don't mention, all in all I feel like the Bosman rule brought more negatives than positives in hindsight. Considering that most of the italian national team who won the euros plays or played in Italy until the end of the transfer window, Serie A doesn’t look that bad. I’d rather just say football as a whole has changed for the worse, with the game being played without sweepers, liberos, creative play being made obsolete by overwhelming pressing and ball retention has become what manager want from the players rather than individual brilliance. This is why modern football stars aren’t comparable to the legends, back then you had to fish out individual plays on a consistent basis, day by day, while now you can go through the motions as it’s more of an athletic contest. It’s the americanisation of football, stats, athletic ability (defenders having to be taller than 6’2 lol cannavaro and baresi beg to differ) team cohesion and tactical philosophy is more important than FUN.

@@Libzalii And this kids, is why football is not maths nor statistics... btw, Argetina won a worldcup 100% because of Maradona and reached a final with his left ankle like a baloon, and regardless, the allpowerful germany had to be granted a doubtful penalty to beat the ever critic of FIFA, Maradona Napoli never won a scudetto prior to Maradona, and never after, the same with a UEFA cup where he would defeat Bayern Munchen and Juventus among other... What Maradona did with anything round, a tangerine, a tennis ball, a golf ball, whatever, is not described by numbers. It was art, poetry, and on top of that, always fought for his fellow teammates and football players (like defending Suarez when he was expelled from even the hotel and his teammates in Southafrica because of the biting while Pele and Platini were in favor of the sanction), against the mafia of FIFA, against the will of the tv (creating the footballers union, of which he was the first president because, among other things, the TV making them play midday in summer time in Mexico 86 for Europe's viewers, for ex). Pele was never the most important player of Brazil when they won the worldcup. Regardless of his fantastic goal being 17 at the final, he was a substitue in previous matches, or his famous header in 1970, he was old for football standards and Brazil would have been champion with or without him that year. Sadly, in his best years (1962 and 1966) he was fouled out, and nevertheless Brazil became champions without him in 1962 with Garrincha and Didi... So, the statictics don't show the real story. The reality is that when most matter, that is playing for your country and in a worldcup. Pele was never the most important player for Brazil, becoming champions even without him. Of course he had tremendous matches and scored fantastic goals, such as the one at the final in 1958. Maradona, on the other hand, SINGLE HANDEDLY won Mexico 1986. I'm old enough to have watched many worldcups (1986 entirely), but anyway, now I guess you can find them here in youtube, and his utter dominance has never been matched in a worldcup. He did everything. And then, with another below average squad, made magic when most mattered (that is, dribbled half od Brazil's team to assist Caniggia) leading Argentia to another final, against all odds, against the home/local country Italy, and losing with a debatable penalty. almost 4 years later, in 1993, whenArgentina almost couldn't qualify and had to play vs Australia to get its word cup ticket, who was called? Yes, Maradona. After drug positive tests and out of shape years at Sevilla and few matches in Newels, he went to a famr and got in shape by his own, like Rocky in RockyIV. He again reached in peak form to the world cup and was kicked out when ARgentina was a clear favorite, after his and the teams level showed in the first two matches, testing positive for drinking an energy drink with levels that today would not be considered positive. How did Argentina after Diego was DQ? Lost both matches. Mafia at its best. While one declared how dirty the FIFA was, and later found to be true, the other was the poster boy. The antihero vs the role model. The one that the people voted as the best of the century vs the one that had to win because FIFA had to invent another poll so Maradona would not be the sole player of the century. You can create as much statistics as you want, but you cearly know nothing abouth football. Ask people in Naples about Maradona and ask in Santos about Pele, ask in Argentina and in Brazil. In Brazil they even like more Garrincha, or Ronaldinho or Ronaldo, and in Santos Neymar, where as in Argentina or Naples, everybody loves Diego, because when it mattered the most (beating Juve/Inter/Milan in the best calcio era, and leading Argentina to one WC and another final) he was there, leading. All his teammates and contemporaries (Gullit, Matheus, Baggio, Zola, etc) adore Maradona, unlike Pele. Brazil was exceptional with or without Pele, they won the worldcup without him and was never the best player nor the one who played the most in ANY of squads of Brazil's 3 WC in Pele's era. Keep up the numbers, luckily, football is an art, is not beisball, is not math. Bye

Modern premier league doesn't hold a candle to the Serie A 1985 through 2005 despite the superior global reach of products from the anglosphere vs Italy. Italy had almost all the best foreign players in the world and had loads of local talent, something the premier league does not have despite glorified training cones like Maguire selling for almost 100 million pounds. Back in the late 90s the premier league was a retirement home for Italian players like Zola, Di Matteo and Vialli and also a place where Serie A rejects like Bergkamp, Rush, Ince or Henry could showcase their talent. Before the Bosman ruling, Italy, Argentina and Brazil were the best leagues in the world. And don't get me started on the Spanish league, the cure for insomnia since Valencia won their last title. That being said id rather have a premier league with proper british football and fans on terraces vs the united colours of Bennetton league we have now.

There's nothing wrong with people of other nationalities in the premier it's what makes it so exciting most of the english players today are not world class if foreigners weren't in the league the quality of football would decrease but it would be good to see more english players throughout teams in the prem it all depends on if your good enough for the starting 11

You've spliced 110 Goals Italia Style with some new footage, probably from KZbin. Nice work. I have the goals videos on VHS

Even the style of football Jersey was better. Modern players in skin tight Jerseys so fashion companies can save $ actually takes away from the game. The movements of Modern football is more robotic, trickery and masking of movements has decreased. Also fat men in bars miss the baggy Jersey possibly leading to less Jersey sales ironically
