Matilda the Waltz - Draaiorgel de Goudon Limonaire / Golden Limonaire -Museum Speelklok Street organ

I had a great opportunity once again on this latest visit to Museum Speelklok to crank the 52 key Goudon Limonaire
This time as part of the hourly tour so there was a live audience. No pressure then!
Prior to playing I showed the guide the video that is already on KZbin - and so he chose me a more challenging book to play this time that is heavier to turn !
What a brilliant book though ! I very much enjoyed this one !
For a relatively small organ I am very impressed with this one! And of course I love any opportunity to crank! I still haven’t cranked that many larger instruments. The ones I have are here on KZbin. So. I am still gaining practise to crank these big wheels evenly! Hopefully given more time, more opportunities will surface where I can get some practise in!
It’s a bit different to a hand turned organ!

That beautiful organ, definately needs an electric motor. I used to love other people cranking my organ, as I could then stand in front of it, and hear how it really sounds!

@@anythingoldmechanical I like it that the museum left one that you can still hand turn. Just like the old days! I did listen from the front earlier in the day as there was already a demonstration going when I arrived to the museum I enjoy cranking so much. But I also understand what you say. I also like the opportunity to stand or sit in front of my organ as someone else does the cranking because of the sound!

I believe you can spin this wheel all day long. I would do the same if I were you. I am not only a musician, but also an engineer, and I get double pleasure from both music and the operation of a smart mechanism. But don't say it's easy. 🙂

It was hard work today as he apparently gave me a particularly challenging book that is harder to turn because I told him that I had some prior experience hand turning this organ ! I get a lot of pleasure from cranking organs of many sizes!
