New Testament believers should celebrate Chanukah because if there was no Chanukah, there would not be a New Testament. If the Greeks would have won, there wouldn't have been any Jewish people around to write it. New Testament people owe a massive debt of gratitude to the Maccabees. More than Chanukah tho, the people of God should also observe the appointed times that are actually instructed in the Torah. Start with Shabbat.

If you know the story of Hanukkah, it's a great - one can appreciate a fun song and an important story without being Jewish. Matisyahu is Jewish, but he's also more spiritual in his songs and his searching for meaning and a relationship with God. (And hey, I'm an atheist and I love his music and appreciate his journey and the history of Hanukkah)
