Alekhine knows all winning combinations and there is no way to stop him!

In the excellent 'Endgame' Frank Brady bio on Bobby Fischer, the first chapter mentions Bobby walking down the street in New York playing blind chess with his tutor. That floored me! Blind Chess!!! I mean how on earth...? I forget where pieces are when I'm looking at the damn board!

How does one play simultaneously and/or blindfold? Can they visualize the state of the board in their heads?
@briankarcher44186 жыл бұрын
Something to do with partitioning the board into segments in your head. Piece layout in segments are often repeated and easier to remember.

Maybe is Alekhine the greatest player of all time? This guy is awesome!!
@Querent20008 жыл бұрын
+Czegenyi Raymond You could certainly make a case for that thesis. Probably his only real competitors would be Fischer and Kasparov. Maybe Botvinnik and Rubinstein.

What means blind folded?
@killerm58 жыл бұрын
+Wladyslaw der Streiter It means with a blindfold, which is something that blocks your vision. So he was playing without seeing the board and the pieces. Have a nice day :)

+MatoJelic Hi Mato, thank you, my rating increased from 1200 to 1450 after watching your videos. Fried liver attack, Traxler counter attack, Sicilian defence, Ruy Lopez, Queens Gambit (declined or not) and many other openings, how to play middle- and endgames in a proper way, I learned it all here. I was surprised to read, that Botvinik is one of your favorite players. After the Keres series, I thought you would prefer Keres to Botvinik.
