Gotta love how the Architect greeted him, "Hello Neo.." Not Thomas Anderson.

He also says a lesser mind is needed to make the matrix but he relativises this immediately and says a "mind less bound by the parameters of perfection". He corrects it in a way that makes him sound less like a superior being and instead points out a flaw of himself. Mr. Smith would never do this. It is a fundamental difference between the Architect and Mr. Smith and possibly other programs.

Neo's last line is FIRE. Even if the Architect has a retort ready for it, you can tell it still shook him. "If I were you, I would 'hope' that we don't meet again." There are implications that Neo's wrath would potentially be uncontrollable and unstoppable, and the Architect knows this.

@@kingtron4620 Neo realizes fast that the Architect wasn't answering the question in a useful way. Neo wanted direct answers that help him in his mission. The architect was probably suprised Neo was that quick to call him out on evasive, non-productive answers. Since this Neo is in love he probably has less patience while he seeks to create a world that is better for his beloved
@kingtron4620
@kingtron4620 2 ай бұрын
@@doomoftheend I see wym, but based on the information he gave Neo in the initial answer, Neo could've inferred that since he is inherent within the system, and thus an inevitability, that it didn't matter what choice he made--he would be the one and fulfil the prophecy because the system dictates that he will, and therefore he could make whatever choice he wanted. The Architect wanted him to do something he could predict so he could control the outcome. He didn't expect Neo would forsake the prophecy (the prediction), and make the choice he wanted to make--the selfish choice to save Trinity. The Architect couldn't predict that outcome, so he couldn't control it. Eventually he did give Neo the plain and simple answer though, and based on that answer, Neo figured out that the problem is choice.

I look at it this way just like a natural cycle of software development. You try to produce useful output from the software and it takes many iterations of it to “get it right” whatever that means to a human (it’s “doing what it’s told”). We are ultimately responsible for the stopping of this machine to do anything past what we told it to do - the end of the code. What Neo is interfacing with is the balancing software that the Machines built: The Architect. A program that is responsible for the balance of the entire Machine world according to its instruction. To a machine, that might means a 1 with a 1, a volt with a volt, any Boolean condition that is satisfactory to the machine which is basically just infinite sustainability and equilibrium. The Architect can only speak in absolutes, because he only “thinks” in black and white, ones and zeroes, trues or falses. A human reaction is a series of synaptic and electrical response but a simple zero or one it is not. The Architect/Machine makes its best guess based on prior outcome which is absolute (the very concept of AI). In our real world, in control of machines, human can still tell the output of that AI whether or not it’s close enough to believe and accept the machine output as real. Thus, when a human mind “fights back” in The Matrix, that equation is unbalanced and the Machines immediately try to counter it with something that the Human will re-accept. The One is a perfect break, bug, race condition or infinite loop in the code that the Architect can’t figure out and can’t get the Human to accept. The Architect is trying to quell the rise of the One, and that makes the Machines more nefarious which is why they have only become more evil, as a Human would perceive. But, The Architect still can’t completely balance the equation. And the reason is the Oracle. The Architect is obviously not on the Human’s side as far as we are concerned. The Oracle is his counterpoint as he mentions himself. Just like the opposite of a human building a machine, the machine built a human (or a program with human tendencies). The Architect threw its best guesses to it and sort of plays “human-machine” volleyball with this code, trying to validate its output as human. It’s stable until it isn’t, when the Oracle predicts the most “Human” outcome with one of its subjects - “The One”. However, The Oracle goes into hiding once “she” realizes “oops, I did it again, but this sixth time it’s really gonna f**k up The Matrix”. That’s why she had to re-shell (and that also due to the death of the original actress but I do really like this explanation). The Oracle repeatedly learns how to counterbalance (or even hack/spoof) The Architect each time because it’s part of the programming logic to do so, but because the program is created to study the human psyche, she knows when and how to do it and is the closest to “free will” that 1s and 0s can be in The Matrix. She really isn’t copying or altering code, she is just making the calculation, picks the outcome that is the most human (or maybe even the most “machine-looking” code that programs the will to survive and choose) and then reveals it to The One and causes the race condition. Notice the Architect does not actually understand choice. Everything is a calculation - “fate” - to him. Also notice the reaction of anger by the Architect as Neo forms his choice to save Trinity. It’s the Machines immediate trying to logically react to the threat of imbalance but unfortunately tells Neo something he doesn’t want to hear - a miscalculation. That response is not what the Human wanted to hear. The Architect still doesn’t 100% understand human emotion as it relates to the “chemical reactions that signify an emotion”. They are not programmed (or at least, not “trained” from an AI perspective to) fully understand there are not enough ones and zeroes in a million times a million Earths to convince a human that there’s nothing they can do to stop the death of a loved one if they are still alive). Consequently The Oracle can’t choose either, but gets as close as possible to telling the Humans plugged into the Matrix they still are able to.

I love how the Matrix has three major antagonists. And they all hate the Oracle. Unlike Agent Smith and the Merovingian, though, the Architect survives in the end. I like to pretend Matrix Resurrections is just a vanity project. Wachowski could have made a great movie about the Dream Matrix ending in the Nightmare Matrix and its collapse.

The Oracle told Trinity and Morpheus what they needed to hear, but her real message was: "Go harvest the human who will make the choice." To Morpheus, she said: "You’ll find your savior by following these signs and teaching him the ways." Meanwhile, she and the Architect were orchestrating everything behind the scenes-programs and events designed to get Neo into that room to make the ultimate choice. The Oracle played a risky game (hinted at the end of Revolutions) when she involved Trinity. To Trinity, she said: "You will love the One." Neo needed to form a bond with a specific human, not with humanity as a whole. If Neo had loved humanity in a general sense, as he was programmed to, he would have chosen to preserve the future of humanity by going through with the selection process.

this scene is so fascinating..even after all this time it feels like there's secrets to be unlocked here..what's kinda puzzling is this.. If Neo has been created with a much stronger connection to humanity than his predecessors why is he so alone at the start of the journey. alone at his job, alone in his room, sleeping in front of his computer & seeking others through his online interactions. I gues you could argue that at the start it's not Neo..Thomas Anderson exists right up until Agent Smith kills him and when he returns it's no longer Thomas..it's Neo. but he's obviously leading a lonely life for someone with intense attachment to his fellow man. the Architect is quite right..Trinity dies anyway..she was always going to die in the end as Neo returned to the Source..it's just instead of taking the doorway Neo went the long way round to get to the same end

Although the Matrix sequels come no where near the truth & depth of the first movie (The Matrix), however in my opinion this scene is the greatest scene ever, and it matches the truth as I believe it to be. Other honorable mentions would be the scene from the movie Pi where the guy at the bar explains the numerology & the bible code, and another is the Ball ceremony scene from Eyes Wide Shut
