I keep finding tunes on KZbin that make me weep that I didn't get to hear them back in 1998, when they would have changed my life. This is really good - it's sort of ambient drum and bass without the cut-up beats.

this isnt a collab.. the concept of the 12" was a "vs" thing.. this is just Matrix. hence the production credits, and also why it sounds nothing like Optical and very much like Matrix.

Actually it's not a million miles away from the stuff Instra:Mental were doing on Darkestral records recently enough. Plenty of tunes in this vein on Exit, Subtle Audio, Modern Urban Jazz etc. Don't expect Matrix or Optical to still do anything like this, but there's plenty of heads who keep it real still.

I think this is basically the only Matrix vs Optical tune they ever made which is quite odd as they're brothers. You need to amend the title to include Optical btw!
