Thank you for this video. We did this in about an hour. We usually turn a 1hr job into a 3hr job but and we followed your video and we successfully completed it in a reasonable time.

Awesome! Glad it helped! Be curious to learn if your temp sensor is more accurate than mine - I find I have to turn the AC down much lower than I would at home for example to achieve the same sort of cooling. I feel like the temp sensor gets colder much quicker than the rest of the trailer so its a necessity to turn the temp down.

@@MatrixPrime So far we feel the temp we set it to is fairly accurate with our unit. We prefer 68-70 degrees year a around in our home. We have been in the RV since we installed the assembly this week and have been comfortable, night and day, with it set at 70 degrees. Now maintaining that temp in our Wolf Pup 16fqbl has been a challenge with this heat wave in the south so we are dealing with the AC unit cycling off and on numerous times per hour but we do enjoy being able to set a temperature and prevent the fan from blowing 24/7. Thanks again!

Very nicely done! I'll keep this in mind to do to our 18TO.

how would this work with the 18TO Dometic A/C?
@Oblivionsurveyor Жыл бұрын
Ran into problem trying to covert my Dometic to this coleman, The Dometic Units mounting holes were exactly 1' 3/8" apart. The Coleman Mach was about a inch smaller. Not the only problem i Found. The people that installed the Airbox glued my old one up because the screw holes did not align with the frame. When I re-installed it I left two screws out because they don't screw into anything.....On a positive note they added a bunch of insulation and the unit is sealed up nicely. Wonder if that means they built the A/c opening too wide? both screwed on the left and right side fell short of reaching the wood frame.

I’m not clear why you needed to remove the double sided tape (and replace the sleeve when you couldn’t). Looks to me like it would have been ok to leave it…. Good video though and will be very helpful when we do this. Thank you!

The factory sleeve can rip when removing everything. In my case it didn’t and I didn’t need to replace but as long as I was there I figured I’d use all new parts.

Great video. Does the blower shut down with the thermostat control or just the ac compressor?
@MatrixPrime Жыл бұрын
the entire thing will shut down yes

Just installed this today and while watching KZbin videos like your to assist, I have come across many comments saying the unit works great but the rv will get really warm before it kicks in again……also saying the thermostat doesn’t read correctly. Did you have any issues like this? I have the same camper as you…..Wolf Pup!!!!!
@MatrixPrime Жыл бұрын
Yes actually. I've found that I'm having to adjust and fiddle with the temp, putting it well below what I normally would to adjust the temp in the trailer. I think it has to do with where the temp sensor is located.

@@MatrixPrime thanks for the reply. Our next camping trip is in August, I’ll pop the shroud off again and move the temp sensor before we head out.

I did this but after a year I’m having an issue where the thermostat reads a lower temp than it actually is causing the the a/c not to kick in… or if it is working the temp is staying to cool up in the intake any ideas?

You sure your sensor is mounted correctly?
