Kai’s Seki Magoroku line is about $60-80 USD for a banger in VGmax, or $40 for a petty knife. Crikey for the cost of a civivi I have a beautiful thin kitchen knife with a polished blade and VG10 steel, as well as actual resin impregnated wood handle. It’s bringing me joy again in the knife hobby.

Careful Pete, the Matsato Yakuzza are not to be trifled with! One time they chased me down the street with knives because I insulted them. The only thing that saved me from a brutal stabbing was by the time they had caught up to me it had started raining and their blacksmith hand forged knives had rusted in their hands. You see, they use these traditional blacksmith hand forged knives for crime and throw them in the river to dissolve them and cover up their brutality. However, on this day they had not counted on the rain scuppering their devious plans. It was lady luck and a fortunate escape for little old me!

I was watching the review when what do you know, the ad break was for a MATSATO KNIFE! The ad is hilarious as well. They claim they make these knives in the tradition of ancient samurais, accompanied by video of samurais bashing out a sword with a hammer. This particular knife caught my attention about 20 minutes ago when I saw the commercial for them on KZbin. I looked into it and ran into this video, finding out that the knife itself isn't what it's cracked up to be. It's no better than a standard kitchen knife. Their commercial made it out to be that it's made using traditional Japanese sword making techniques, which it seems to be all smoke and mirrors. I would like to upgrade my kitchenware sometime down the road, but this knife really isn't it.

Lol. Thanks for the heads up. Husk is such a crappy brand, they deserve the reputation they have. Not all Chinese knives are bad. Xituo Bucher for example was great for the price. It cut well, had about 59-60HRC as they advertized and lasted shaving sharp for over eight months using once or twice a week. I bought 3 of them. 2 for me and one for my father as a gift. Too bad its no longer available.

Yeh, I fell for the polished marketing - bought 4 (for the price of lunch for 2 at a fancy steak-house) and then had to pay a ransom to the delivery company (which was part of the original price) so I got PO'd and contacted Matsato's "Customer Service Team" - NO satisfaction ! I was going to gift them to a brother and 2 son's in law , but now I'm just going to remove the laser label, apply my own and use 'em for steak BBQ night !!
