I met my former favorite player Kenyon Martin after an Olympic practice game back in the day. Kenyon, who I watch his entire college career and was a huge fan of his. Let me add I was a 16 year old kid(now 40). After the game, a game which nobody was at(literally like 10 people in the stands). I literally walked up to him 1 on 1. I walked up to him and told him he was my favorite player. I asked him for an autograph and asked him if he remembered this dunk he did in a game earlier that year. Long story short, he cussed at me and didn’t give me an autograph. I totally understand he’s not obligated to sign anything for me but to cuss at a young child who looked up to his game is wild now that I’m a grown man. Dude is a real life piece of trash, money don’t by you character and class… Anyway, I enjoyed watching Shaq punk that Nets whole team in the finals.

@@sova4luv341 yeah man I’ve noticed that a lot of the guys who make it big were having their heads filled their entire life once they were deemed elite enough for college or pros, so their confidence usually comes at the price of any wholesomeness they might’ve had. There’s no excuse for it tho, it just means a lot of athletes are complete assholes simply because they’ve only focused or viewed things from their perspective and nobody else’s. And you always eventually hear about it. At least you have the mind to understand that when a person admires you it’s a BLESSING.

This is the most accurate conclusion I've seen from this story lol. I love Matt Barnes and think he is a great analyst and very respectful for the most part but then you hear all these stories about how he wanted to "whop this dudes ass" because they hurt his fragile ego. If you can't take criticism from your coach I'm surprised he made it that far. It's funny because they talked about it on KG'S show. They said when Matt was a rookie he was so nice and clean cut but that people called him soft and apparently hurt his feelings enough to decide to get two sleeves and a neck tat then start telling people he was going to beat their ass if they fucked with his gangsta ass.

On a 3 on 2 fast break, the high percentage option is to go for a dunk, layup, or get a shooting foul and get to the line. Back then defenders were pretty physical and you get fouled pretty hard which leads to fights. You were considered soft for shooting a 3 on a break. If some coaches don’t like you, they’ll tell defenders to foul you extra hard. That’s why the best athletes endure pain, get bigger and stronger, and defenders gets out of the way. Big guys like Karl Malone, CWebb, Barkley, Shawn Kemp taking on huge defenders Rodman, Laimbeer, Oakley, Mahorn, Mourning, Davis boys.

Mo cheeks changed when he became a coach because he felt he had to change because he had to.....but as a player he was the quietest humbliest player in NBA history. He did like probably 2 interviews in his whole career. This is the side off him that many of people have talked about lately

Are used to go to a lot of Sixers games I remember seeing Matt Barnes warmup but I don’t think he played a single minute. I recognized him on tv playing for a different team like a year or two later and he was good. I was confused why the 6ers never used him.

He is one of those that gets more credit than credit is due. One time chip avg 11ppg 6ast 2 steals. 4 time allstar and defensive 1st team in 15 years and a mediocre coach at best in 24 years being an assistant 16 of those years with a .49 winning percentage as a head coach. Cheeks should have been banished to the WNBA a long time ago!
