I wasn’t familiar with Jonathan Bailey but his aura really shines through.I see many Awards in his future. I hope he remains humble and kind.

You should check his other recent work: Bridgerton, Crashing, and Broadchurch come to mind. He's memorable in all of them.

same; I'd only seen him as background characters before but as soon as I watched this series I was like omg he must be a stage actor as well because his mannerisms are always on point

“How do I let people know at that age that they are going to be ok? Because that’s what I needed. & That’s why representation I do think really matters” Jonathan Bailey is a gem!!!👌🏼👏🏼❤️

Matt was probably very popular in high school, he is handsome and seems to be very kind. 🤭💙

It took me a bit to be sure after thinking "Isnt that the Bridgerton Brother?" a few times. No doubt this role was really vulnerable and real, quite the opposite of the British role. Flawless. And the unexpected best fake O I've ever seen... although I guess more properly expressed... it's just the best "Sense Memory" example per Stanislavski. This is also Matt's best work, it didn't just rely on being beautiful. There was depth.

It's so sad hearing about Jonathan Bailey being outed when he was young. In several interviews, Jonathan mentioned that he knew he was gay since he was 11. He also said he quit ballet when he was younger because he was afraid it would reveal that he was gay. Although Jonathan realized his sexual orientation at 11, there was no one around him who was gay, and the media only portrayed being gay in a negative way. He didn't have anyone telling him that it was okay to be gay, which is why it took him longer to find the confidence to come out. Jonathan came out to his family and friends in his early 20s, and it's heartbreaking to think about the tough time he went through, even though he knew his sexual orientation from a young age. In another interview where he talked about heartstopper, he also mentioned how, as a gay teenager, he experienced falling in love, but he didn't have the words or the courage to express it. 😢😢 “Many! But the main one was the excitement, which takes me back to that joy, emotion, and magic of falling in love as a gay teenager. A special and scary time when I didn’t have the words or the courage to express what I was feeling.”

I first got aware of Jonathan Bailey in Fellow Travelers and then I saw him in Bridgerton. I am not a native speaker, but I thought he did a really good accent ony to realise he's actually British, ha ha. Pity he wasn't more in the 3rd series, it was him who made the 2nd series so good.

Interesting that Matt brought up the word tribe. The context in which he describes is perfectly understandable, but is part of the problem that things have become a bit too tribal? Being yourself and living an authentic life is the healthiest way of contributing and existing. We are all human beings and deserve respect and the right to have love, friendships and intimacy with those we share that connection with. Support, tolerance and understanding is the road to a harmonious existence for all. Excellent performances by both actors.(editing). After a few more episodes, am astounded with the entire series. This is an amazing series in every way. Both actors deserve awards. Matt really outdid himself in this. Great job!!!
@Lupin788 Жыл бұрын
I think "tribe" in Matt's example means "chosen family", a group of friends who support each other unconditionally as their authentic selves.
@dougc4302 Жыл бұрын
@@Lupin788 Agree. He did an amazing job. The whole thing was very well done. I think that particular week I was bombarded with tribal conversations and was just thinking/wishing everyone could join together and just be supportive rather than focusing on our differences. Thanks for your reply, much appreciated.
