Yes, but you have to admit that the way the story unfolded, if Rori had had Christopher in her life, her choices would likely have been affected differently by that. And that is what is the real point of, or why people bring that up as a comparison, in my opinion. Because in a way, while our friends, or partners at different times in our lives do that to us or for us, the first people who do that are your parents, and Rory did not have that. So people want to question it. To echo what was just said though, "that story wasn't written", (ie: that Christopher was in her life to be her dad when it was maybe more so needed, not that he would have been good at it at all - which was supposedly the reason WHY he WASN"T there) , so frankly, we will never know - we can only theorize, or project what we have seen, know in our own lives, or what we want or would want for our own lives. But it would have been different. Obviously. Hope that makes sense to you.. Just saying.

I'm just sad the plot turned out that way :( While Logan sometimes can be a jerk, he really truly loved Rory, and cared deeply about her and that scene when he said goodbye to Rory broke my heart. I believe if they were in different situation with no dynasty plan, they'd be together :(

The situations are obviously not exactly the same but there are similarities. Anyone can see that Logan clearly loves Rory, just like no one could deny that Christopher truly loved Lorelai. Lorelai could have have raised Rory with Christopher from the beginning, he wanted to marry her and everything, but she chose against it. When they were in that tango club, Logan seemed to waiting for Rory to ask him not to marry Odette or he at least gave the impression that had Rory asked him to, he would have not married Odette. Rory never did ask him to do that because that's not what she wanted. Rory was at a crossroads in her life and Alexis even said she was going through the motions with Logan because he provided a sense of comfort and familiarity like Chris did for Lorelai, but ultimately, a life with him isn't what she seemed to have wanted. I only say that because Rory's conversation with Christopher implied that she was seriously thinking about going through this alone and wanted to see how someone in a similar situation felt when the mother of his child decided to raise their child on her own.

My problem with everyone saying Logan is mirroring Christopher, is that everyone is assuming that Rory is the exact replica of her mother. I think they even though things have "come full circle" as people keep saying, that doesn't really mean that they will react the same way. Rory grew up with an absent father, Rory has never been against the wealth and status of her family name, Rory loves her family and enjoys spending time with them, Rory is not getting pregnant at 16 - she is getting pregnant as full fledged adult (acts like it or not) and she has worked and traveled and don't all the things Lorelei has never done. So to say that in this circumstance that she would CHOOSE to be a single parent and date a low small town man and live a middle class small town life, is pretty far fetched to me. I think that she has the makings to become a great author, I think that even if she was a single parent that she would still live somewhere more metropolitan and be pushing to have her own successes as she is actually a very self absorbed person, so I don't think a child would hinder her dreams. I think that LOGAN is VERY different from Christopher as well. When Christopher was 16 and essentially given an out of having to 'spoil' his life and he a father, he took that out. He, still to this day has taken the same out with Gigi. So, no I don't think that they are the same. Logan is a hard worker, he is smart, he is devoted and loving and I think that he would crumble everything with Odette and what his family is trying to build for him because of the raw love for Rory and by extension that baby. Just because it is mirroring, doesn't mean its the same. They are completely different people, and at a totally different point in their lives. I don't think Logan would pass up the opportunity to be with Rory for real.

I totally agree with you!!!!! I get how Logan is meant to be her Christopher - with the rich status but really?! Rory and her mum live totally different lives. She didn't get pregnant at 16 etc.. So her life shouldn't mirror image her mothers. Unpopular opinion: I LOVE A YEAR IN THE LIFE, this is why (long comment, sorry): because I think that’s life. Not everything has to be happy endings and perfect. I don’t get why people complain about Rorys future, about why she failed and how she was supposed to “do big and better”, in real life most of the people don’t live to please everyone’s expectations. When you are young you sometimes dream about conquering the world and doing big and great stuff, as you grow up you realized it is not that easy, you have to take the opportunities life throws you even if it is not what you wanted from the beginning and sometimes you just have to go one day at a time. This doesn’t mean you forgot about your dreams and this is what I see in Rory in AYITL. She has not forgotten what she wants and you can see it in the summer episode, when Rory and Lorelai accompanied Emily to check Richards stone and Rory told her mom about the book she wants to write and Lorelai gets mad because she doesn’t wants her story to be told, Rory says: “Without this, it is grad school or groveling for jobs that I don’t want”…it may sound selfish, but what I see is her holding on to what she has always wanted. She keeps being loyal to her dreams and she’s also a risk taker, because the moment she knew the Stars Hollow Gazette was no longer existing, she stood up for what made her fall in love with writing, she took a chance and went to talk to Taylor, she saw an opportunity I also think that Rory is a representation of the millennial generation… I also have a very crazy theory but what if the baby she is expecting is not Logans, Pauls or Jess? (I am not even going to mention the wookie because that is far from being possible). In the summer episode when Jess visits her at the Stars Hollow Gazette, she tells him: “Maybe Paris will let me be a surrogate”…what if she actually decided to become a surrogate? Idk, this is just something that occurred to me. About her love/personal life, she’s just the reflection of her mom and growing up with an absent father. It is not that she learned nothing about sleeping with a married guy (Dean), it is her flaw, Rory is not perfect, she was so good to be true the first four seasons, she at least had to have one flaw. The musical part was funny and Rory was not the only one struggling, Lorelai was too and it is ok because being a grown up doesn’t means you have to have your life together, so I actually liked the going wild part of Lorelai because it just showed us that she is vulnerable too, that she’s human…I love Gilmore Girls and Gilmore Girls: A Year In The Life.

I know Rory loved Logan and he loved her at the time but I think Rory made the right choice. Being married to Logan would start off pretty good but I think she would eventually fall back into the life she had when she dropped out of Yale. A similar life to Emily, planning the social life of the family while Logan worked long hours at high end firms. At the time Rory wanted to have more options open to her. I was very disappointed at two things that didn’t happen in the revival for Rory. In the last episode Christiane Amanpour is staying at the inn and Lorelai runs home to get Rory to meet her. As part of their conversation, Rory is given Christiane Amanpour’s business card and told to send her over some of her articles for review and career advice. The revival doesn’t even make a reference as to whether or not she took the opportunity handed to her in that episode or going to Christiane Amanpour herself for career advice. Also whenever people in the original run asked Rory what she wanted to be when she grew up she said she wanted to be Christiane Amanpour because she loved that she was able to travel the world and report on the realities of where she was. In the revival the only traveling Rory does besides going from NYC to Stars Hollow and back is to London to be with Logan. No significant travel for work or taking jobs that would get her traveling the world. I felt like her life took a big step back. I think the biggest mistake she made in her entire career was turning down the job at the Providence Journal Bulletin for the longest of long shots at the NYTimes fellowship which only accepts 4 journalism majors from around the country into their program each year. We all knew she never had a shot and by the time the rejection letter arrived the Providence job was already filled. At the time Logan said to Rory to do what she felt was right for her and her career and to factor him in but later. I wonder if Logan would have gone for the Silicon Valley job if Rory had accepted the Providence job so he could live with her. It’s clear that the Silicon Valley job was not a career defining super long range career for him so anything could have been possible. The events of the revival could have focused on the fact that Rory had been in Providence since graduating college and was trying to move up at the paper but she kept being passed over for other people and felt stuck. She could be contemplating a change in her life by trying to move to other papers and the things that did or did not happen in the actual revival could have happened in this version of events but with Rory having a more rooted existence. She would still have the talk with Jess that convinces her to write the book but it would have taken place in her office in Providence. Things just would have made more sense in this version of events than the version of events we got. Rory wouldn’t have moved back home so quickly. Perhaps Lorelai would have moved in with Rory for a short time when she was confused about her own future instead of taking that horrible “Wild” trip that really went nowhere.

I feel that, well in my opinion the baby is Logan's but that he will find out after he gets married. I think it will be a boy and Rory will name him after her true father Richard. Her grandpa was a big father figure in her life so I feel that in his honor she'll name the baby after him. Jess may not be what Luke is to Rory to her child because I think that he'll eventually move on to someone who is more his style. now I know they are similar but Jess is more free spirited and take charge than Rory is. Jess lives his life knowing that if you want something you take advantage of the time. Rory never wanted to jump with Jess as she did with Logan. plus now they're sort of family so i think know loves will enter their lives to close the circle. because no way in hell was that the end of the series...i wanted closure not more unanswered questions.

I think the baby will be a girl, and Rory will raise her on her own, that's why she came with her father to ask him what were his though on Lorelai raising her... I think she wouldn't end with Logan for all that is around him, really a shame because he cares a lot for her. Occasionally, one of the actors from Gilmore Girls makes an appearance and we both get excited to spot the easter egg. I truly enjoy how seriously Matt handles the fans of Gilmore Girls. Czuchry originally suggested he didn’t remember each of the roles that he auditioned for. But during a Q&A with My Fanbase, he said his first audition was for the part that eventually went to Chad Michael Murray. Murray played Tristan on the series before he took the role of Lucas Scott on One Tree Hill. Czuchry also reported auditioning for the roles of Jess Mariano and Marty. The part of Jess went to Milo Ventimiglia. And the role of Marty went to Wayne Wilcox.

I agree the musical seemed a desperate move for a story line... I believe there was room for way more ...Rory’s turn in this revival was disturbing.. I loved the fact that we had A year in the life.. it was too short I wanted 10 more years ,,, I wanted Rory to marry Logan and continue to build the show on their and everyone elses relationship! Warner Bro lost.. we need this show back.. we need Stars Hollow in our lives...
