"I am really enjoying the longer videos, Dan! Your content is great and it provides simple swing thoughts to take to the chipping green. I would love to see more videos focused on shots from 50-100 yards. As some of us may not be getting the distance and flight that we would expect."

Love the practice movement where You don’t hold the club and you just turn your hips and shoulders while holding hands down and pivoting back and forward. Just getting this rhythm and the feel of the flow has helped loads. Now before I hit I do this a couple times then maintain the feel in my practice swings. It helps clear my mind, stop thinking and worrying, and just feel the rhythm of the swing.

Very interesting array of short-game situations and shots. Somewhat surprising to me that any golfer could achieve a scratch handicap with just a functional short-game. Maybe if a player possesses an exceptionally good long-game then the short-game becomes much less important. It will be interesting to come back in a year, having practiced diligently at these situations to see how much of an improvement has been made in terms of handicap. I would expect to see him off plus 2 or 3 all other things being equal.

Really enjoying these. The last couple of years I've gone from poor to mediocre by focusing on my 54 wedge and right arm/hand. Get a much softer flight and finally know what the bounce is for. If you were in Switzerland like me I'd book an appointment to upgrade from mediocre 🤣

Hey Dan. Amazing video. For release 1 Rachel seemed to have a more in-line (outside?) backswing and less right hip rotation compared to Matt who has a more inside backswing and right hip rotation. Which is preferable (while keeping the clubhead outside the hands) ? thanks for this great content !

Would love to see the miss at 30:20 dissected a bit more. Dan suggested that the back swing might have been a bit short, but when I played it back, I didn't get that sense. Maybe some "knee flinch"? Said it was a "reaction". Understanding such "reactions" would be of value it would seem, especially when such a fellow is otherwise striking so many quality shots. Late on the "release"? "Pulled on it". The "soft ground" stayed in place for most strikes. Maybe it's asking too much of current technology to get a complete look at what's going on with the club/ground interaction down there (super slomo?) - especially on such "misses".
@mntlblok6 ай бұрын
Spoke too soon. He *did* dissect it more - longer, slower back swing and down swing making the knee move unnecessary.

The skull at 34:11. Frame by frame (using the period key) just doesn't look that bad! Just a high risk situation that one must accept? Maddening!

Dan I've been practicing with this very gentle release, light grip pressure, not driving with the legs. At the simulator I am getting that 1.0 smash factor. But I've noticed when I have a lie in the rough I'm still struggling matching the distances I had off the mat. What should I be thinking about out of the rough that will help me get through the ball?

I've just started using the toe down, high hands, stand close to the ball, out to in nipper Dan describes in his book and several videos, it's awesome! You just about need your eyes over the ball and aim to hit the ball and ground at the same time. Stiff wrists, no hinge. It's tough to judge but will send the ball up in the air, it will roll out a bit too
