I've used this knife many times in the woods for about a year now, it's now my favorite. Others that I let use it like it also. Sure there are better knives for specific jobs = a good combination of size and weight that covers most jobs, if this weighed any more than it does, I wouldn't have carried it as far as I have. Mikes video is right on.

+survivalmike and +Survival Lilly, I have one the Primitive Bush Knives and have had it for about a year. I really like this knife and it is my go to knife in the woods. IMHO there is no other knife whose spine can compare regarding throwing sparks from a ferro rod or making wood scrapings for tinder. I have made some mods to it. Primarily to the handle. I wrapped jute twine and epoxied it to the hand between the upper and lower wholes in the handle. This gives it a really nice look, but more importantly, adds to the grip-ability and comfort when using it for long periods of time. Also, I braided a shoulder carry strap for it, as I do not like the sheath design. Thanks for your review! Cheers

Say Heah and Cheers, Yeah I've been eyeing that knife (Primate Survival) I really like the blade profile because I know that slightly Curved belly will be a slicer. You did a good job reviewing the knife, Lily was a nice addition in the video too.,,. p

Danke nochmal fürs Zeigen Viele Grüße Norbert PS: keep on your good work.......

The hole is a proprietary condor design just like the lines, they really aren't "for" any actual purpose. That being said, the lines do aid in the blade not sticking when cutting meat (blood grooves) and the hole can be used for any number of things.

That's they way gauchos from South America carry their knives, under a belt or sash. Small utility knives called hip knives in the front and the larger ones, like six inches and up, in the small of the back in a very slanted fashion, as close to horizontal as possible. That allows for an easy reach and draw in almost any situation and it's out of the way when on horseback.

I think when it comes to these somewhat unique and different knives, and this is my personal opinion, one is better off building a forge and making knifes oneself! Because what they have in common is they are made for or by an individual that has some very specific ideas of what the knife has to do for him. That leads me to think you won't use the 3 lines and the hole in the blade for what it is meant for, tbh. I don't even know why they are there, but my guess is that they are not decorative.
@randalflagg90869 жыл бұрын
Old hickory butcher knives have similar lines I know they Ade in slicing meat, wether these are for the same purpose I don't know and like you I've know idea what the hole is for.

Lordy, please work smarter, not harder. The beaver-chew is a good way to take down small trees, but get a hunk of wood and baton your way around -- you'll have it down with about 1/3 the number of whacks!

honestly I like condor products. This is a Condor that has been modified. I dont see how he can claim ownership to a knife that somebody else made. Just buy a Condor Primitive Bush Knife and modify it yourself. That is what I did with different condor axes machetes and knives. At the end of the day they are still Condors no matter how much work that did to them.

As far as I know, Matt Graham ended up with this design after modifying the Condor Jungle Bowie to suit his preferences.

Maybe you should consider that chopping is very energy depleting, and batoning might be more effective. That's likely how it was designed, and that's why it doesn't fit your hand good for chopping. Only a newby to the survival world would waste all that energy chopping. Just saying.

I love most things Condor makes, but there's nothing about this knife that I like at all. It's far too big, it's far, far too weak, it's poorly shaped, and it has lousy steel. On top of this, the steel is stainless, which is not good. 420HC is good steel, when Buck uses it, but its horrible steel when anyone else uses it because they can't afford to use the same expensive heat treatment that Buck uses. I've seen two of these knives break right where the hole is in the blade. On top of all this, unless you're planning on getting in a knife fight, the whole concept of a "survival" knife is silly. So is planning to chop and baton with a knife. It's just completely foolish. If you want to survive, take real tools, a Kephart size knife, a hatchet or tomahawk, and a saw. Forget the silly gimmick knives, and forget the complete nonsense of using a knife to baton or chop, and the even sillier idea of carrying a "survival" knife. Unless you kow when a survival situation is coming, you probably won't have this knife with you, and even if you do, it's still the wrong tool for the job.

well maybe your a wimp who thinks he has to have all the fancy equipment real survivors know how to survive with a knife and nothing else unlike a pussie
