I gotta respect Pearl for sticking to recipes they know are working with some minor tweaks and to keep pushing their best kits out there. While other companies always creates new lines and quickly discontinue them, Pearl stick to their best kits for a long long time and when they do announce a completely new series, you can be sure it's gonna be a big hit!

Halpern has such a unique playing style. Groove Djent with much more complicated hand patterns than feet. So fun to listen to

I had a set of these back when they were making the black sparkle lacquer finish. They definitely have a unique tone that was ideal for punchy progressive music. It was very eye-opening for me, having played maple shells for so long. The hardware is EXCEPTIONALLY NICE for a kit in this price range. Definitely worth trying out!

I love these drums! I've been playing Pearl drums for 20+ years now and you couldn't convince me to play anything else either. I do own multiple kits including DW, Tama, SJC, Slingerland, Mapex, Ludwig (Octoplus), and nothing beats my Pearl kits! Even the low-end Pearl drums I have sound better than my overly expensive DW kit! I just got my dream kit last year and it's a 13 piece Pearl Masterworks Stadium kit which to date is my most expensive and biggest kit (Besides my Chrome Octoplus kit which is the exact replica of the drum kit Neil Peart played on Moving pictures but with way more cymbals). Pearl is definitely a kit for people who hit hard and they can customize anything for you! Everything down to the hardware is meant for destruction! And it will last forever! My 10 piece Pearl Export that I got 20 years ago Ive been on the road with no cases, it's been on a few of my earlier albums and they always stayed in tune! Has all the original hardware on it and now my son is playing it! That kits been through hell and back and still sounds great and hasn't fell apart like a few of my other kits that aren't Pearl have. I like a solid kit that doesn't move when I play it! If I had to pick a second it would be the 90s Tama kit with the huge concert Tom's that kit has also seen hell but still all in good shape, but as for overall good quality and sound Pearl hands down is my favorite drum company of choice!

Might be personal preference but Pearl have always sounded (to my ears) so much better sonically and range wise than most other high end companies on the market.

they sound like if they had e-rings installed on them. apparently, someone likes it this way, not me. I personally prefer the drums to be open and resonant, knowing I could "control" that resonance with whatever I want to (including e-rings) should I need to.

Kinda what I was thinking…..they just sound like low tuned twin ply clear heads. Be interesting to hear them with some coated or clear ambassadors and a bit of tension.

Based on my experience with birch + walnut/bubinga and similar wood combinations I also think these should definitely have singly-ply heads instead of what looked like G2s on this video. I think it would make them sound way better.

The wood combination in this kit works best with single ply heads. Also hid tuning is mid-low.

I own this kit in 24 13 16 and 18. All I’ve ever played is pearl and i will continue to play them. The quality and craftsmanship are the best. Nothing beats the pearl sound.

I got mine (satin ash finish too) from Fred Pierce's drum shop! I went in there for a bop kit and he offered me a deal on the 20" bass config. I took it! No Regrets. It was quite a change from my ludwig keystone. I look forward to getting the 22" bass drum someday. Also is that a Buzzmill shirt?!

It wouldn't be fair, every other drum company has sound reinforced ads&promotions, the biggest advantage being the quality of the recording space along with that of mics, pres, engineers etc. because of their resources they can provide standard levels of recording environment thus being equal, if they feel that the competition is cheating they will answer accordingly - as in the great tour events, if the tete de course is juiced be sure then peloton is also

The toms sound amazing, but I didn't really like the sound of the kick, was weirdly punchy and hollow are the same time, to my ears
