Weapon X in the Eagles offense is Goedert. And he’s virtually never talked about by the national media because untimely injuries keep interrupting Pro Bowl level seasons. So he never gets the credit his game by game production deserves going back 5-6 years. For all the deserved talk about Saquon, AJ, Hurts, and DeVonta, Goedert has 57 catches on only 70 targets (81.43% catch rate) for 684 yards (12.0 YPC) and 3 TD’s. Not to mention 15 catches on 18 targets (83.33% catch rate) for 188 yards (12.53 YPC) and 1 TD in the playoffs. The Eagles literally run over 2 yards more per designated run when Goedert is on the field. He’s that dominant as a run blocker. As shown by his massive block on Saquon’s first TD where he nearly blocked the Commanders defender into the sidelines. Goedert not only has the most catches in Eagles postseason history but the most receiving yards as well. Injuries seriously have hidden how elite he actually is. And national media continue to sleep on him big time and virtually never mention him.

@TrawFrmDaNorth7 Yep, he’s definitely overshadowed. I’ve even told lots of fellow Philly fans that Goedert should not be relegated to the 3rd passing option by default. If anything, he’s the single biggest mismatch in the passing game virtually every week. And games like New Orleans where he had 10 catches on 11 targets for 170 yards should not actually be anomalies. He could easily be regularly catching 70-120 yards most weeks if Hurts targeted him more consistently. He’s that elite.

@@TrawFrmDaNorth7 Goedert, AJ, and DeVonta only played three games together all season. They’ve now played the same amount of games together in the playoffs as they did all regular season. As a result of the three of them swapping places on the sidelines all season, I think we never saw the passing game flow like it could have with Saquon in the mix. Every time one of them came back from injury, one of the three went down with an injury. So it just never really flowed with all three of them. I think we are now starting to see what this entire season could have looked like offensively if all three of them had stayed healthy together.

Philly gets the lineman low, hurts basically rides them and he can squat 600lbs, then the push from behind. It sucks to watch but great if you’re a fan of the beagles.

It’s not just that the linemen get low but that’s an aspect of it. They get low and tight in formation, and the center and both guards are all 3 exploding off of the ball, and then Jalen remains low and pushes himself directly through the center, until the guard on whichever side of the center creates a space for him to go. And it’s usually not just that the guard creates the space on their own. The defensive line players usually end up being the ones who create that space for them, by how they are trying to attack it. And then Jalen, by remaining low and centered in the power of his own base, along with the guys behind him, push directly through that space. The only way I can imagine there being to stop that play, is by having your D line align just as tight to each other and by having your linebackers standing just behind them waiting to see where the space gets created and then they explode through that space and grab hurts and drag him backwards with their own momentum. But that’s a lot easier said than done.

it's not just about putting micro chips in the football and BOOM first down measurements are saved by technology.... there's a reason it hasn't happened, because it's not even remotely close to being that simple.... people mention baseball and tennis, well you don't have to determine if any one of 20 different body parts on a player are down on the ground while digitally tracking where a ball physically lands, you don't have to factor in rules like forward progress, it's literally JUST ABOUT THE BALL in those other sports with that technology and that's not how football works
