Andy Palmer presents a new solo show with ceramic artist Matt Long. Matt is currently running the ceramics department at the University of Mississippi (Ol' Miss). His work has a strong relationship surrounding whiskeys and the drinking and serving of them. All of his work is porcelain with a very thick application of slip to the surface creating a dramatic surface that's dynamic as well as fluid in both looks and feel. Flashing slips, Shino's, and carbon trap glazes are used to give the reddish/orange colors; the smokey edges, as well as the subtle dark green poolings.
