MATT. I had the pleasure of seeing you open for Zach Bryan in Tacoma this past weekend. You are remarkably talented. And such a delight to hear play in person. And my heart goes out to you with your RAW and vulnerable lyrics. I do not know what your relationship with God looks like right now…so maybe what I am about to say you already know or have wrestled with in some capacity before…however I just feel I need to say it: Dude. I hope that when I say these words (hoping you get to read this yourself) you are open to hearing them: Bro. Jesus loves you SO DEEPLY. Like, God SEES you and wants nothing more than for you to come crashing into His arms and accept His embrace. Please know that He sees you and loves you and wants a relationship with you. I promise this isn’t an empty statement: I am truly praying for you. And I hope that you can understand that this is coming from a place of love. With every raw lyric you bravely belted this weekend, I just sent up a prayer. My desire is for you to become aware of the real and only stable thing in this world: and that is God Himself; the definition of love, grace, truth, beauty.
