I found you courtesy of father Walter Chiswick the first time I heard He leadeth me. I had to keep playing the rest of the songs during lent. I’m in the middle of 33 days to morning glory, which is the preparation for Marion consecration. Your music fits right in. Obviously the good Lord has blessed you with the magnificent gift. I’ve gone back and listen to a lot of your earlier work and I see that you’re gonna be in Springfield Illinois in October. That’s 2 1/2 hours away from me and I don’t drive. But there is a train that leaves right from the station in my neighborhood and could take me down there and I have some friends in that area who would be shocked to see me, but would also be glad because it’s been a long time, and then come and see you would be icing on the cake a little more than a week later I’ll turn 67. I am not well, but I am stubborn and if I want to do something bad enough, I will. So I plan on seeing you in October in Springfield. I’m glad you’re not playing the fair. I managed the fair for a couple of years and it’s a nightmare. That’s where I got my gray hair but I’m retired now and spend a lot of my time listening and reading about a year and two months ago. I went back to the Catholic Church after being sideline for about 50 years talk about your interesting confessions. But the priests at my new church have welcomed me with open arms. And they are very in tune with my illness. Just continue doing what you do because you do it so well.

Thank you Matt for sharing your gift with us who are stumbling through this "valley of darkness". I'm not embarrassed to say that I wept through the ENTIRE concert! With copious amounts of tissue too! (Yes, real men do cry!) Why weep? Because, for months now, we've been locked out of our churches, and the opportunities for communal worship (and for Holy Communion!) are almost non-existent. The fact that our church sings many of your songs helped. But it was the GRACE of GOD that made me aware of His presence in MY living room that brought me to tears. We were created for worship, and you were the catalyst tonight for a renewal of faith and HOPE. God bless you!

How many families are torn apart from them? How many church families are split down the middle from them? How many of us, including clergy are unduly focused on Man's Justice, not God's. Listening to this concert a couple of years after, it still is such a personal reminder of the Hope and Peace that we have in the one who redeemed us. Yeah, so it was in front of a camera, but it was less all the distractions of a crowded venue, the crowd, the lights, etc. I hope you would take this “ living room” on your to Churches and theatre venues without all the distracting and frankly annoying lights and other features of a large concert venue. Personally, I don’t typically like Matt’s style, it sound like you’d crying, or whining, but the truth is in every word you sing and you are in fact crying out to God and his people, and those that need to hear the message. And therefore, one of my favorite singers, of any genre.Keep singing the truth!
