The rims are so perfect for this car imo. Tastefully modded little beast :)

I'm totally jealous of them. Same wheels I wanted for my Fiesta but they were on crazy backorder.

Its weird I feel like a VW just finds you. I had a 99 Cherokee as a first vehicle and it was decently fun, but handling, mpgs, and just about everything on it was junk lol. One night I came home really late at night like 3 am. I snuck in my house and went to bed. Then I heard an alarm blaring. It was my Jeep. I was so fed up with the car by then that i said I wanted a nicer newer car. Ended up going with my mom to look at cars. She wanted me to get this base Focus that was just bland to me. Then we drove by Chevy, and I looked out the window and said they dont have anything besides trucks and suvs. But right next to Chevy was a VW dealer. I was very new to VW at the time. Never really knew much about them but I knew they sold actual cars. So I looked around had a budget of about $20k just like you. Looked and didn't see much unless it had some mileage to it. But then the salesman took us inside and looked on the computer. He tells me he has a manual, diesel, Jetta from 2011 with 27k miles on it for $17k. This was when they first started selling the buybacks so the TDIs were pretty cheap. We almost didnt find the car in the lot, it was next to all the new cars and the salesman told me on our initial walk around not to check that section for that reason. After we found the car I remember instantly falling in love with it. We were very skeptical on why such a nice car was so cheap. But they explained the dieselgate situation and it made sense. It was also my first Manual car. I've ridden manual dirtbikes/atvs but never a car. So I had my buddy drive it halfway home (he was a bit more familiar with manual, but we were both new to it) and I drove it the rest of the way. Then that same night my mom told me not to drive it tonwork because I wasnt familiar with manual. Me being a teenager ofc I didn't listen, but I got it to work and home with no issues! One of my favorite memories and cars, sparked my love for VW. Sorry for the yap sesh

That is an amazing story, thanks for sharing! That car was an absolute steal no doubt. Dieselgate was the first think that came to mind when you mentioned a TDI lmao. What's it like? I'm not too familiar with the specifics of the whole situation, but I'm assuming that such a large controversy must have meant the situation was paired with an adverse effect on the vehicles. Is it/was it a strong reliable daily still or did you notice any problems through ownership?
@juanirving2762 ай бұрын
@PizzaBoy_Official_ oh yeah a lot of positives owning one. VW ended up putting warranty on any emissions related thing so if you were lucky enough you could have coverage all the up to well past the 2020s and mileage over 100k. I don't have the car unfortunately it was totaled but I never had any issues with it beforehand except for a dpf light but that was from not driving it long enough and it was covered under warranty. My friend bought a Jetta Sportwagon same generation and had warranty, VW fixed his light (same situation) with no issues. The only bummy thing about the car was they were all fixed so they lost some power and some mpgs but now people "delete" them to have same as original factory or some people go beyond that.

I have a 17 GTI on Cobb stage 2 with all the bolt ons. Tuned at 48k and I’m now at 116k miles with zero mechanical issues. Truly, the best vehicle I’ve owned.

Had a VW Jetta with unlimited electrical issues lol idk how true it is but years later I was told to open the door and see where it was manufactured, if it says Germany you’re good, if it says Mexico get rid of it
@PizzaBoy_Official_2 ай бұрын
The Jetta was called the VW Bora in Mexico and wasn't exactly 1:1 with the Jetta models. I wonder if those problems stemmed from VW trying to change up and "remarket" the model for the Mexican consumer.
