Love Mk 1 Lotus Cortinas! The sound when she’s opened right up along the straight is music to my ears! Got to love the cheeky Mini Coopers nipping through the inside on the corners… but down the straights it’s ‘no contest’!

Love it! The Ford Lotus Cortina--my favorite sedan racing car--ever since they were introduced in the mid-60's!

That looks like an absolute blast. That Cotina was quite a car. Parents bought a new one in 1966.

It is still amazing how fast those minis go around a corner. The speed they can carry!

Yeah, but kudos to that white BMW 1800 for which a Lotus Cortina is theoretically a stiff challenge.

When we were lads my best freind had a mk 1 lotus cortina no one around our area had one, he spent half his life popping the bonnet so everyone could have a butcher's at the engine 😂 we got well and truly stuffed on the way home one night by a lad in our village in a mini cooper s through the real twisty stuff .Both great cars👌

how much power do these cortina's have?
@stevesammut94698 жыл бұрын
Cameron, in stock livery, they developed 105 hp from 1600 cc, DOHC engine. They were pretty quick in their day, but where they shined was in their handling. I had one when I was 18...my second car. Should have never sold it.
@cam_1218 жыл бұрын
steve sammut so Jim Clarke's one had 108? I heard the lotus cortina's had around 140 but these days produce around 180.
