Best WCW game they ever made! Goldberg and Booker T were my go to guys! Booker T used to win a ton of CPU Vs CPU matches because he had those strong kicks and he had a good submission move with that arm bar.

Man I tell you what. You made my day. You took me back to a time when life was good and there was no care in the world. Me and my friends would get together and we would play this game for hours. We would stay up for days sometimes cause we had that much energy. I remember booking my own story lines and commentating my own matches and recording them on VHS. Much like you're doing here recording with the TV but much crappier quality. Unfortunately I have none of those left as they didn't survive hurricane Ivan. But when Brickowski came out I laughed my ass off at your reaction. And the name. I had forgotten about these characters. I may be wrong but I think some of these were the game developers. And it was a way to fill out the roster. But I do remember making him the world heavyweight champion and my friends just giving me the shit for it. Brickowski is legend and I'm thinking you got the inspiration for Broski from him somewhere deep down in the back of your mind. The names are similar lol.

Someone probably already said this but the random gimmicky wrestlers like "Shogun" and "Executioner" were actually AJPW legends like Kenta Kobashi and Toshiaki Kawada, just with different appearances. There's a mod for this game called Revenji that edits their appearances back in the game.

The reason for many of the fake characters was due to a licensing problem with some Japanese wrestlers. They changed their looks but kept the moves. For instance, "Shogun" is apparently Toshiaki Kawada.

Why did they mess with the formula? It clearly worked because people still play these games today and they are considered classics, so it makes perfect sense to create an up to date version of No Mercy, but why is it taking so long??

Because it would have became tiring over time and a break would be needed from it eventually. One can only take the same formula and use it constantly before it gets repetitive. The 2k series became like that over time so many drifted back. Hell, as much as I loved the wwf smackdown games, I was getting tired of those to until SVR started to evolve. Now I'm at a stage where the "realism" has been around for longer than I expected so I went back. The transition since SVR. SVR-2011, WWE 12-2K20. That's a lot of games. Smackdown just had: 1,2,JBI,SYM and HCTP.

One of the best games ever. Along with wrestlemania 2000, and I think it was warzone? The raw game for n64. The game engine all of those ran on is still the best. It's insane for it's time, even now. The selection for character creation and moves is so ridiculous. It's no mercy I was thinking of not warzone.
