Longhorn fan here. Rhule is a fantastic coach! Program builder and leader of men. His players play hard for him and his teams will be buttoned up and physical. In my mind He is a steal, and the best coach you guys could have hired.

@@davidkelly2063 don't care about what he did in the NFL. He's been a winner every program he's been at in college. Plus college coaches don't really translate to the NFL (think Urban Meyer) and vice versa.

Will Matt Ruhle be Nebraska’s Jimbo Beard? Lots of money for a limited amount of wins. Ruhle recruited Texas when he was at Baylor. Texas kids wanted to stay in state to play. He will find it more difficult recruiting from outside of Texas. Waco winters are a lot milder than those in Lincoln.

you need to understand the dynamics of college football especially the money. everyone has their right to their opinion on if this was a good hire or not. HOWEVER the going rate for a decent coach in the P5 is 8-10 million minimum. Thats what Rhule got and thats minimum. Miami paying Mario Cristobal who has the same type of record in his career as Rhule does 9 mil a year. Thats an ACC school and the Big 10 makes twice as much money as the ACC. If your not happy with Rhule then cool, time will tell if you are right or now. But complaining about the money is ridiculous.

See Nebraska's problem is they literally don't want to win. They chose not to hire Urban Meyer. I heard Trev say in the press conference that nobody turned the job down and they really just went after Matt Rhule. Well that means you chose not to give Meyer the job. Nebraska makes moves like this and then wonder why they always fail. You fail if you literally choose not to win. Duh! I don't blame Nebraska though for the Scott Frost hire. He looked legit at the time. But every hire outside of that including this one had better options in which the onus falls on Nebraska to make better decisions.

The best part is that desperate programs buy into the hype. Michigan State did the same thing with Mel Tucker $9.5 mil a year because he had a superstar running back and won 11 games in one very lucky year.
