I totally agree with the portal should open after bowl season is over. Keep the teams together and focused until after the season is completely done. Why make unnecessary disruptions if you want to protect the game. I guess unlike the NFL, there's no "SHIELD" to protect.

Portal has to open before bowl season due to academic calendar and be registered for spring classes and then be in spring camp. Or you can set contracts that kids have to be in both semesters to be eligible . Thats it
