Commanders fan here. Expecting Detroit to win, but the “experts” were also expecting a high scoring game with Tampa Bay. However, Dan Quinn’s game plan included long, sustained drives to keep Baker Mayfield off the field, which they executed successfully. If the Commanders offense can execute in a similar manner with Detroit, then this will be a close, low scoring game. It’s really going to come down to the Detroit defense’s ability to stop Jayden Daniels.

I think it will be closer than a blowout for sure. Detroit is going to get it done because of our offense, but we don't have a great track record against QBs who use their mobility to scramble pickup 1st downs and extend plays long enough for receivers in man coverage to get open. Mobile QBs really hit a weak spot for Detroit. Someone who can extend plays and give their receivers time to separate from man coverage really hurts the Lions passing defense that can already be had. Let's not overstate the mobile quarterback thing. Every team has difficulty with a dual threat quarterback. Daniels will get some yards, but I don’t believe that the Washington defense can handle the Lions offense. I never said I think for sure Washington will beat them. But is not such a sure thing as everyone thinks. Daniels is 2nd in QB rushing yards, beaten only by Lamar Jackson by 24 yards.
