While watching this I was actually thinking that Matt Walsh should wear a blue wig when he says this stuff. He's actually worse than the feminists though, who at least bother to concoct a false version of history and say that men should self sacrifice to atone for our fictitious crimes against womankind. A great comment and you have my respect for approach the subject with some sensitivity to the religious convictions of other. I agree that happiness can be found in friends but what games and movies provide is only pleasure. By extension, happiness is something that a family gives a man, to some extent the satisfaction of being a good husband but more significantly the pure joy of being a father. The use of the word conservative would suggest that the right wing romanticise the past, when failed marriages, domestic violence, etc. have been a reality for countless generations. As a Christian and a hater of feminism, has he read what Paul said where Paul wrote that in his opinion that it'd be better that you don't get married because the times are short and the days are evil and marriage takes a lot of energy and time. Paul himself never married, nor did Jesus. Is Matt Walsh claiming Paul led an unfulfilled life? Did Jesus? Jesus led a painful life, but that was because He came for a mission, but He fulfilled His purpose, and didn't seem to need to be married to do it. I agree that you shouldn't sleep with women as it's a sin unless it's your wife, but you have two choices that aren't sins. Get married and have sex, or be celibate and not get married. Both have their difficulties. Being told you have to marry is not right. If you want to marry, it's not a sin. If you want to remain unmarried that's also not a sin. At this point I'm undecided. If my finances improve and I find a woman that I think is worth the risk and I feel that God is calling me to marry her, then I will, but as it stands I'm basically a "going my own way" sort of thing.

Tattooing one's body "for the dead" is forbidden under the old testament covenant, so it can be argued that Christians under the New covenant have the liberty to do it. As there's nothing in the teachings of Christ or writings of Paul that specifically prohibit it. But I would imagine that most Christians over the age of 50 would certainly not be ok with it.

Van Bronckhorst joined Rangers half way through last season and Rangers won The Scottish Cup and got to a Europa League Final whilst finishing second in the league. Then they qualified for this seasons Champions League. The start to this season hadn't been disastrous as far as I can see, yet they sack him ... I don't get it, is there more to this than meets the eye ?

That got a lot of people's backs up, including mine, but not because it's not true, it's because the manager should never publicly say such a thing. Us going on to have the worst group record in Champions League history didn't help matters. It got to a point that the players didn't look like they wanted to play for him any more, and you can't blame them after him publicly saying they can't compete.

There's nothing wrong with having an ideal for men to strive towards. We can accomodate for the freedom that all men have to live life however they please within reason without denying the fact that one particular lifestyle nets the most positive results. As for the rest of your vid I agree mostly. I find Matt Walsh kind of painful to listen to at times because he is too simplistic. Not that that makes him wrong necessarily, but many times, like this, his obtuseness cancels out his own argument. I think fear is the driver of too many marriages and resulting babies. It comes from many directions, and it is directed at women as well. I see this fear with a woman in my life. She is never really happy in any relationship she’s in, yet she is convinced that she is so bad off not being in a relationship. I know a lot of this is culturally or even biologically driven, so it can’t be totally helped. I think it would be a good thing for everyone to learn to be comfortable in who they are and learning what they are before rushing into a marriage. In that regard it’s not such a bad thing that people get married later than they used to.

This is such a niche and absolutely delightful channel and every video is a pleasant surprise. Having said that, I disagree with the premise on this occasion. Happiness is an abstract noun no better than love or hate. How is a man in a marriage that is less than satisfactory any happier than a single father struggling to make ends meet? To serve is a good thing for men and women alike. What is parenthood except for service to a child or children? On every episode of the Matt Walsh Show the host puts forward the same traditional principles that modern men and women could or should live by. Take it or leave it, he is not a theocratic fascist (even though he is an aspiring one)! On the climate change/societal collapse comparison, take a look at modern London, New York, San Francisco and Los Angeles for proof that the breakdown of the nuclear family has led to crime, drug addiction, homelessness, etc.

While I agree that matt has an almost "naive" way of looking at things, I think most of his arguments would be fixed by just saying "most" or "many" a bit more. "MOST/MANY men will be happy with a family" and allowing for some room for those who just want to fucking do their thing. THERE WILL BE SOME tho, who change their mind along the way and it's important for them to consider that that might happen. There's no "one size fits all" formula for men, and while I can see why matt is defending "traditional values" and that it'd be good to roll things back so people can do that if they want to without being such a tilted playing field against men, people who want none of it should be respected too.
