Hi Matt, Thanks for guiding us through your brew! As I was about the replicate the brew a few questions occurred: 1) which version of the orea brewer are you using ? I have the V4… which bottom would you recommend? 2) do you divide the 230g water (after the bloom) in two times 115g at 1:00 and 2:00min ? 3) any recommendations for water composition for washed light roast? Just gonna chime in since I do have the Orea V4, B3 Flat and the Profilers+Booster which I obtained from a reseller at below retail price, from my experience the classic, fast and apex bottoms has ribs that are too far up the brewer to let the booster sit level and the ribs are also easily scratched by the gold plated steel booster, so I ended up using the booster and profilers only with the open bottom of Orea V4 Narrow. Matt Winton also recommended trying the booster with wave for bypass recipes in his Instagram. Another recipe that I did try out is putting the booster on a Mugen Switch for a silly flat bottom switch experience, but the drawback is that the Mugen Switch has no way of keeping the booster level.

Here is the TLDR! I’ve used a V4 Narrow with an open bottom as that works best (fitment) with the Booster 45. 16g coffee to 270g water (40/115/115) (1:17 to 1:18) 96c water Pour with a lot of agitation 40g bloom - swirl Pour from a higher height with highest possible laminar flow. Right before the splash. Max agitation. Slower pour lower height. Faster pour higher. Bloom - 40g 1 minute 1st pour - 115g (155) 2 minutes 2nd pour -115g (270) Okay to swirl after final pour to quicken draw down. Finishes at 5 minutes.
