My grandmother was an Hungarian Jew, I leaned to make chicken and dumplings with farval. Soups but never anything like gulosh. Going to look up and make.

@@MattandJulia this is how u make, farval , get egg barley shape kosher if you can. One package will be enough for 3or 4 people. 1st brown onion in small amount of oil , season with paprika. Then put in chicken stock from the pot of chicken soup, add as you will need till is cooked well. Add white pepper if you got. Stir often. The chicken 1 med onion chicken breast , about 5 boulion cubes or stock. 1 tbsp. Pepirika salt white pepper. Put chicken in pot of water with boulion cubes. Chopped onion paparica. Boil at first to cook chicken. Then when chicken is cooked turn to simmer and put in dumplings. You make them by 1 cup of flower or more for more than 4 people 3 eggs 1 tbsp of salt half tbsp white pepper or to taste. Half to one tbsp of peprica to taste, mix the flower eggs , pepper and peprica in bowl. Till stiff and gummy. Use spoon to scoop up dumplings wet spoon each time to get of of spoon easier. Gentle boil for 40 mins. Add to boiling chicken don't forget the peparica. I think that's it. Let it simmer .

Hey, Hungary looked so interesting especially the little town Tihany on the lake. They're famous for huge fields of lavender there, so next time you go you must promise to both run through a purple lavender field and film it, okay? OK 😂😎

@@SamsRussianAdventures Hi, they popped up on my recommendations and I started watching from when they were in Russia. I look forward to their uploads because they have consistently good content plus they're fun. I will check out your channel too!

@Sam's Russian Adventures Regarding your question what attracts people to @Matt and Julia; I think you will find the answer reading through the comments above. They are a down-to-earth, honest and genuine couple and that shines through in the content that they produce. Some quotes: "Your style is so pure, no fuss just having fun in a great part of the world"; "I feel like I am there with you.Just looking around and having fun"; "You guys are so natural and lovely to watch"; "You too are so much in love with each other and with life"; etc. I started watching when they popped up on my recommendations when they were in Turkey (I was watching other Turkey travel vlogs at that time). I was immediately hooked because of the genuine portrayal of their experiences without "glamourizing" everything. The lovely dynamics between them as a couple also attracted me, as well as their (sometimes quirky!) sense of humour!

How did not you go into Pecs down town? It is certainly one of the most beautiful cities in Hungary. You were staying in a suburb built for the uranium mining in the 1960s-70s. Not very sexy but the downtown is large and gorgeous. You also did not stop in Tihany. From there the view of the lake is breathtaking.

You should have visited the Balaton upland area including Káli basin which is considered to be the Hungarian Tuscany...so amazing. Gulyás is not a stew BTW. What you ate was beef stew, marha pörkölt in Hungarian... which is definitely not Gulyás because that is a soup 😊

Hey Julia and Matt. My name is Judy Harris and I am from Moody. ALA in the USA. I love your show and the beautiful places yall have traveled. Such an exciting life. Julia, I watched you on Grear Britian Bake. I feel like you did not get the right judging from the judges, especially Paul Hollywood. You should have not been voted off when you were. Have a safe travel, stay safe and well and God protect you and Matt. I look forward to hearing from you.
