I’m not an SEC fan, but Stockton was 20/32 234yrds 1td, not an elite night…but damn fine night for a backup QB on his first start. He could have played better; but I refuse to allow anyone to say that game was on him. Given his circumstances he played as well as any coach could have asked. I think UGA fans will be happy with their guy moving forward.

Georgia also sat out for 5 weeks and additional 24+ hours in a hotel room cause of a terrorist, while ND had just played and is in a rhythm. Also none of Georgia's o-linemen was healthy and gave up 4 sacks and 2 TO's. Had 12 overall starters out. Also our first scoring drive was ruined by someone on the sidelines. Still dropping passes. Then they scored 17 pts in 30 seconds of game time because of the sacks and special teams. Everybody who had a bye week lost cause 5 weeks is too long without playing. Y'all really think ND would've lost to NIU now, like they did after a whole season of sitting out... I understand some people's brain only works surface level. Not too much common sense.

Nick Saban called it. He said the 4 that got a bye could struggle. Their tackling and angles would be poor with the time off. Normally doesn't matter since both normally have 4 weeks off. Playing a week before the game is a huge advantage.

What sums up the sec losses to big ten teams? Physicality. Michigan didnt have an offense before players opted out but the defense ran over bama. Notre Dame, although not in the big ten, got in the backfield more times than you can count. Plus what’s the number 1 thing that has changed in recent times? NIL and transfer portal. Now that EVERYONE can pay legally things have changed. Michigan has just begun to jump into the NIL game and they will be dangerous. When the teams up north get into full swing with the NIL $ it will drastically change who dominates what. Saban got out for the specific reason he couldn’t compete not being the only one with the bag of $. Players will eventually go where the $ is and good coaches will as well. Give it 2-4 years and it will look drastically different.

Got whooped. But how do you finish? You definitely can’t live off the past either and many fans who never see their teams win national championships cling to other teams since they are in their conference. As a Notre Dame fan, we've been on the opposite side of this exact game too many times. Until the clock read 0:00 i wasnt convinced we were going to win lol. Hats off to Georgia tho, they're a great football team. Gunner played great given the circumstances. Big thing for Georgia was that they couldn't run the ball. Only 101 yards taking out sacks.

Fun fact: 5-star recruits don’t always have 5-star football IQ or the discipline to play effectively. UGA has some of the biggest/toughest/fastest players but that doesn’t always translate to the most effective players. This game continued the trend in which teams that hosted an on-campus playoff game went on to win the quarterfinal. I truly believe that the juice from getting to have a playoff game in their house carried that over into the next round. I'd really be interested in seeing how different the quarters would have been if they were played on the campus of the #1-4 seeds. If things stay the way they are, teams are gonna shoot to be the 5-8 seeds rather than 1-4 seeds.
