We're retirees from Queensland, Australia. Love your family and following your house renos etc. Our other love is Caravanning, think you in the U.S. call them Trailers or RV. The only advice we can give is, buy something you feel comfortable towing, make sure your Tow Vehicle has the correct towing capacity and do a towing course. Perhaps a Winnebago type Vehicle towing a small vehicle to tour around in is an option for you. Whatever option you choose enjoy your camping and be careful because it is addictive 💞

I also do little projects. I'm currently changing all the gold doorknobs, faucets and shower doors. A small simple thing but big improvement. I'm also changing all the outlet covers. Was never a fan of the standard plastic and there are so many options out there. Again a small simple thing but a big impact. Love all the projects you do. Keep posting... Great video! How about a pop up tent camper? Fairly lightweight, not all that expensive, easier to tow than a big trailer, they have a kitchen, refrigerator, can be heated or air conditioned. Check them out. When I was a kid, my dad made a pop up trailer out of plywood and built it on the frame of an old manure spreader. It was forest green with an orange tent. What a get up it was, but we had loads of fun in it.

It is uneducated people who say and do things like the lady in the store. I had a disabled child, I was in the grocery store my son who was 10 at the time was standing near my daughters wheelchair. Two older ladies came by and looked at my daughter and said “ oh that’s is awful, children like that should be institutionalized. I was about go let them have it when you heard my son say “ this is my sister and she is just fine with us we love her and I did not like what you just said” the two ladies scurried off. I was so proud of my son.Some people can be so narrow minded. You too are awesome. Hey, Matt you can send some of that squash to Utah. The squash bug killed mine. 😀😀

I’m glad I live in a state where there’s strong support for vaccination and masks. We’ve always done tent camping, though sometimes we’d rent a cabin or yurt. But have you considered backpacking? I know there can be more risk in the Rockies from bears and cougars, but still, it’s nice to accomplish something and camp away from the masses. Now that we’re retirement age, we’ve toyed with the idea of renting a camper van, but there’s a lot to be said for hotels, which are sometimes even cheaper.

I continue to be amazed (in a negative way!) when I hear/see stories of the "karens" who think that it is their God-Given right to instruct others on HOW to live, which tends to mean "how to live by MY rules!" My own country has a sampling of the same type of folk, who squeal about "personal rights" and even quote Fox News as the ultimate authority under God, and they tend to be very conservative, traditional folk who care more about themselves than the well-being of the wider community. I am sadly reminded of the long-ago bishop who, in dealing with rebels and their victims all locked up within the same church said, "Burn them all; let God sort it!" I highly recommend a "pop-up" tent trailer. Our family has used one for 12 years now. They are surprisingly easy to pull and set up, plus you get LOTS of extra space. Ours even has an "add-a-room" that zips to the awning. We just use our mid sized SUV to pull it too!! Happy camping!

I don't know if you can Can or Freeze your garden abundance, but have you looked into it? When I was a kid growing up, in PA, my aunt and uncle would freeze a lot of summer produce so we could have it in the Winter. I've been watching the guys at Tyler and Todd, and they've got a huge garden and it's also over producing. I never see y'all talking about prepping gaden produce for the winters.

When I was little, my family had a small motorhome. It was really tight for a family of five, so we (the kids) set up a tent and slept outside next to the motorhome unless it got really cold. That was way more comfortable for everyone. You might try that, because a camper really seems like the most convenient way to go places. Towing a trailer seems like it would always be stressful, and getting a small motorhome makes it just as difficult to pack up and go do things away from the campground.

Your squash "collection" is very impressive. Bake the Patty-pans with mozzarella and tomato sauce, or stuff them with a ground meat mixture. Zucchini- serialize to make "spaghetti". Also all squash freezes well. Lemon cucumbers are great! I live in L.A. and mine never get that big. Pickle them with sugar vinegar and mustard seed, like Japanese style. The reason that they aren't in the markets is because they don't ship well. 🌈🌈🌈

I'm a public school teacher and my district has a 30 day mandatory mask mandate....but crazy enough since I live in the state of Texas and the governor has allowed parents to opt out of their child wearing a mask to school. This is totally absurd and irresponsible!!! At this point I have several students at home sick with covid and pray they get better 🙏. Just venting as a teacher that cares for her students. Considering another RV? Go with a 5th-wheel, trust me. Sooo much more maneuverable when you find yourself needing to do a 45-degree when backing it into a tight camp site, when turning switch-backs on remote mountain roads, or when fighting cross-winds and turbulence from large rigs. The only caveat will be that your truck has such high lift, it might be difficult to find a 5th-wheel that will work - even with the spring shackles modified. I was at Costco last year and the lady had her new born baby just out and about. Mind you, she was wearing a mask her husband was wearing a mask but the baby was not protected at all. She even allowed stranger touch her baby and get really close to the baby. It was mine blowing how irresponsible they were.

For the zucchini, slice in half, olive oil, seasonings, let Crow pick his own and BBQ for a few minutes. Cut into rings, dip in egg, seasoned breadcrumbs/parmesan cheese, and bake till crispy. Both so yummy
