It was actually really sad for me to see the reaction to the Godzilla cards getting released. I'd always really loved Godzilla when growing up, so my initial response was super hype...but when I went into shop to chat about it, I was quickly awear that was not the common opinion. Pretty glad to see now that the cards themselves are in a super stable looking area in the market; only makes me want them in my binder more

I mean honestly I get it, I love a lot of other media more than i like MTG but i really wouldn't want them to mix. IDK if this applies to you but a lot of people who only started playing 2-3 years ago dont really have a sense of what the games internal integrity used to be, its just such a blatant business move as opposed to a game decision you know? ldk it just really ruins the fantasy vibe mtg has

Honestly I'm a huge fan of Godzilla. I didn't even know there was Godzilla for magic the gathering till about 4 years back. I had a coworker give me 3 of them. So yes I want them all, but some of them seem like not worth playing with. Still I'll own them all lol

I loved it, built commander decks out of king ghidorah and biolante and made sure every godzilla card in the colors was in the decks.

Ghidorah, a lucky boxtopper pull from the one ikoria draft box i preordered is by far my most favorite art. Funny that i was originally hoping for mothra. With the lack of interest in this set i was able to buy all the comic book versions of the mutate creatures. The value of these cards may be nil however they will always have a home(or triome) in my heart. And yes i do still play with them regularly. It also funny but i have a full art godzilla DC sleeved and packed away as a reminder that many thought the world was going to end yet it didnt. Again.

I don’t understand the hate that it’s part of magic now. Mtg is set in a multi-verse. A multi-verse is inherently infinite until an end is specified. It’s why new planes like new cappena and kaldheim can be introduced. Logistically, every brand of part of mtg until specified otherwise.

I had started collecting Magic back in 97' and had stopped around 07'. The news of Godzilla being put into a game that had played most of my life was amazing. I bought a lot of Ikoria collector's box to chase for the cards. Had gloves and everything. I intend to get them graded along with the Godzilla Lands as well. I was encouraged to buy a commander deck and pick up the game again. (A new format for me. We used to call it Highlander back than just with some differences.)Happily I kept my collection over the years and don't regret keeping it at all. My first commander deck utilizes Mutate and a few Godzilla cards for the flex. I started collecting again as well. I go about it different now. I hope at some point they do a Castlevania crossover some day. I think Universes Beyond crossovers are healthy to bring new players into the community. I encourage players, teachers, and parents to teach and play Magic to kids just for the educational properties of the game and the engagement of introducing people to one and other. Although I don't like the amount of product they push out and the financial aspect of the game is not healthy, but I think that may change soon.

I wasn't a big fan at first, but I quickly realized that people weren't going out of their way to sleeve em up and play with them, especially as the MtG flavored ones are dirt cheap comparatively, so they weren't going to effect my playing life so much, they'd just be something interesting to collect.

This is what secret lair should have been and what collectors boxes should have been. Visually unique, personally I think they should have said special secret lair and collector art should be “reserve list” even if it’s not UB . Players happy. Collectors happy.

That's the block I have the most cards of by aaaaalot.. I bought a whole booster box , two pre release boxes of boosters. And at least 30 booster pack singles. I must have well over 10,000 theoretical internet dollars just by going by the card prices in this video and how many of these cards
