For me I don't care about the big feet, it helps with the stability of the figure and I'm one of the few people who would gladly give up some accuracy just so the figure can stand in it's own without having to use a stand

a KZbinr called Marko Makes has proved all Mattel figures CAN stand with smaller feet, even the Hammond collection, it's just most figures need longer tails, Mattel typically always makes the tails too short, so they need huge feet to stand, instead putting so much cost in huge feet, just make tails an inch longer, I don't really mind either but it's just extra money to make it uglier, just my opinion though

The "big feet are for stability" talk is a verifiably false claim. Aside from Marco and Rod's Random debunking this myth with their replacement parts, we've had tons of dinosaur toys in the past from Kenner and Hasbro with smaller feet that can stand up just fine. Theropod dinosaur toys need a balance between the head and the tail in order to balance, not blown up feet size. The jumbo sized feet is just an aesthetic style thing (and not an appealing one) mattel keeps doing for some reason, it doesn't benefit the line in any way. After all they advertise the Hammond Collection figures as having "premium movie finishes" so justifying wonky proportions doesn't support what the line is trying to be.

The Inaccuracies on the raptor are what stop me from getting it without thinking. It still looks good, better than the male version, which makes me reconsider getting it... I might end up getting the male version to complete the set if I do get it though. This is one of those that I wanted to be hyped about but that sadly I'm not

Wrinkles in the shirts were sculpted on cheap plastica figure in the 60s, they are nothig new. The sculpt on this figure is terrible. The proportions are wrong (look at his waist) and the wrinkles you mention look like they've been added to the shape instead of being sculpted integrated with the shape.

I have a theory about how bad the head sculpt is. Mattel know that Marco makes is making more accurate head sculpts, so don’t put effort into the sculpting. They know that people will buy multiple figures to keep some the same and some to mod, therefore giving Mattel more money.

Alright! JPOG fantasy come true after more years than makes any sense at all....... but still. It's not amazing but it's cool. Definitely wrong color eye and no red around the eye which is weird because these are some of the most characteristic features. But it's still nice. Except the legs and feet. I will NEVER stop hating the feet. Not because I'm holding a grudge but because it is THAT BAD. I'd MUCH rather it need help standing up than look like a Nintendo character. The Kenner ones had amazing feet, and some couldn't stand. And I never complained. I REMEMBER the feet because they were memorable. They were good! The Parasaur especially had amaaazing feet. And then we got the most generic dinosaur foot I have eeeever seen on the Hammond Parasaur. Why are they so committed to clown shoe feet??

Most of the kenner raptors have small feet and stand up just fine. The Lost World snap-jaw raptor has small feet and it can stand up on its own because it has a longer tail to balance it out. I don't get why some people justify mattel's bigfoot dinosaur problem, it's like they just conveniently forgot about all of the other dinosaur toys we've had before these that COULD stand up with the proper proportions.

I just don't get it. Why. WHY still the big feet? Surely by now they MUST know two things: 1. it's NOT needed for stability - smaller feet are out and they prove they are 100% unnecessary - perfectly stable without the mega-feet so that is NOT an excuse and if anything just costs them more money in plastic - and 2. that people have been VERY CLEARLY stating that they hate them for a LONG time now. At this point it's almost like they're doing it out of spite. They HAVE introduced many requested things into the line - so they do listen - but they REFUSE to listen to the comments on the feet. I can live with them recycling the same raptor hands over and over again (lame as it may be) but it's getting silly at this point. It's a meme. It's a JOKE at this point. And again, I don't want to hear the "they're for kids" excuse - because they're not. Not these. JPIII came out more than 20 years ago now - much as I hate to admit it's been that long - there are kids in HIGH SCHOOL who were born AFTER it came out. High school graduates even. That's depressing but it's true - point is, kids don't know jack all about JPIII so no, these figures are not made for them. The feet have to go. It's time. ALL they have to do is just change the sculpt for the feet for each type of dinosaur ONCE, scale them down a BIT, and they are good to go and customers will enormously appreciate it. While ON the topic, the hands are also grossly oversized for the thickness and length of the limbs - and there's virtually no reason for it. It again - when you consider how MANY units they ship - costs them in plastic when you add it all up and include the oversized hands and feet - they're so cheap with the pain job but they could save ACTUAL MONEY but down-sizing just 30% on the hands and feet.

Yes! The "kids toys" argument people use to excuse the wonky proportions is the biggest fallacy in defense of them. And I will speak as someone who was once a kid in the late 90's and early 2000's and bought up most of the JP3 and post JP3 toys ( I didn't get the chance to buy most of the Kenner ones until later, I had very few) I can affirm that those toys did NOT have this problem. In fact in comparison, the JP3 toys have better proportions, plastic quality, and paint jobs than Mattel's "premium movie finish collectors line". It seems like people only defend the HC because of the articulation..and it's average at best. Outside of that, the sculpts are average to atrocious and a lot of the plastic being used feels very cheap, hollow, flimsy and gummy. For as much as people knock the early 2000's lines, they still have a lot to appreciate when you take a good look at it. Most of the complaints came from the scaling of the re-ak-attacks and some of the weird poses, but other than that...there's still quality to be found in them.

Don't get your hopes up. People will scalping the absolute shit out of this set, and even without scalping, you're going to pay way more for it than you think. I still haven't even gotten my male raptor or my Pachy. Don't bother with Target because they're worthless at this point, as is BBTS, Entertainment Earth, and Amazon. The majority of people who get this set either got hooked up, or they got one from the manufacturer for free to review. I'm just about done with Mattel and their bullshit supply problems. Sure, it's nice to see it reviewed, but if I can't get one myself, it's just a cock tease.

I bought mine from Amazon. Placed a preorder around November of last year. It's not available very often, that's for sure. Hopefully at some point Amazon will get better at stocking their exclusives, specifically this set.

Tbh, I'm more aggravated that I still haven't gotten my male raptor and Pachy, which I had pre-ordered on three different sites, and not ONE of them has come through yet. The whole marketing of this stuff is just a joke. Especially for figures that are supposed to be Target exclusives and not one Target near me in a 20-mile radius has had any H.C stock besides the Rex for several months. They're really sucking all the joy out of our hobby. TOYSRUS shutting down has screwed us all.

@@Yoshoggutha I couldn't agree with you more. The distribution of metal products is a nightmare and it makes it so impressively hard and frustrating to collect. I have to try like crazy to get things as soon as they released because if not I always worry that I may not get another chance to buy them. That also benefits scalpers greatly because then everybody has that mindset going into them so you want to grab them as soon as you see them even at a higher price. It's absolutely terrible. It should never be this complicated to buy Dinosaur toys. I absolutely share your frustrations. So you actually have this set pre-ordered? Hopefully yours will just randomly ship any day because that's what happened with mine. My estimated arrival date never updated or anything it just randomly shipped one day.
