I agree. Sorry if it made you cringe. This is one of my earlier videos, and I tended to dilly dally and ramble. Apologies.

No apologies needed. Your explanations were great ! Actually, it's the best explanaition of Chebyshev's inequality that I could find here. But it doesn't seem right. The formula, I mean. It looks like it's saying that whatever the data one has, we will always reach the conclusion that 75% of the distribution will be scattered in a 2 standard deviation range. Does it actually work that way ?

(usernmaeooh) He subtracted 1 from both sides I.E. { .75 - 1 = 1 - 1 - 1/(k^2)} from there, -0.25 in the form of a fraction is -1/4. Since the k^2 on the left-hand side is also in the denominator, you can reciprocate both sides (terms). From there, -1/4 reciprocated = -4 & -1/(k^2) reciprocated = -k^2. Since both are negative, to "clean it up", you multiply or divide by negative -1, it doesn't matter which of course. As a result, k^2 = 4. I hope that helps :)

how does -1/k2 equals to - 0.25....also after getting that figure and squaring it....how does that equal to 4 :S
