Mattanchery is located in the northern part of Kochi in Ernakulam district of KeralaLocated in Mattancherry, is the Mattencherry Palace which was built by the Portuguese, The Mattencherry palace houses a museum in the first floor. The museum exhibits the throne, wall paintings, beautiful wood work of the cielings/doors/windows, palanquin, ornaments and clothes which were used by the imperials. The Ground floor a temple. Upon exiting the palce , you enter Jew town. It is a beautiful street reflecting the jewish style of architecture and living. You also find a lot of antique shops in the streets. The street leads you to another famous landmark Paradesi Synagogue. It houses a splendid Clock Tower..
