Agreed. Fonseca will be a force to be reckoned with in a couple of more years, after some experience under his belt. Double faulting at match point shows the nerve needs some work.

He lost one of his service games at 4-0, so 4-1. Then Matteo easily got his two games with a great serve -> 4-3. Fonseca lost one of his games but got the next one (5-4). More two games by Matteo (5-6) and finally Fonseca lost with a Double fault (5-7), not really a choke, he's still a young and unexperienced player

People say Fonseca plays explosive tennis, which is totally wrong, there is absolutely nothing explosive in his tennis, he is a good ball striker, has good technique, but he definitely does not play explosive tennis like Alcaraz.
That early set 1 yelling was clearly just an attempt to distract Berrettini since it disappeared when it didn't work. Glad Matteo won, very poor sportsmanship from Fonseca.

I think he was just trying to hipe himself, not distract the other player. When you're down in a tennis match you must try to get that fire you know? The will to not feel defeated. The second set was so close that i think that that's exactly what he was looking for.

@@thiagobadin5331 Is your premise that he no longer felt a need to hype himself up later in the match, when he was behind? The bellowing masks the sound of the ball on the strings. It may have the effect of hyping him up, but it is hardly the only way to do that. He has a choice.

I still don't understand what people are making about that Brazilian player Fonseca, he is not a good player, he is easily eliminated and no, he really doesn't have the attitude of a winner. Brazil is still very far from having tennis players who will stand out in the top places of the world rankings, both male and female, period!
