• Matteo Carcassi Op. 60...
There seem to be some discrepancies about the ordering of the études 7, 8 and 9. I'm not sure why my edition is different than others, but hopefully everyone can find the études they're looking for! ;)
Thank you for listening! :)

I've heard these played too fast by professionals....great tempo and articulation. These are not just studies, but wonderful pieces of music in their own right!

I don't have near the technical expertise as this young man. But you still may enjoy Daniel Hake Classical Guitar (youtube or Rumble). My 28 minute video begins with Caprice, by Carcassi. I have a rough crude sound as contrast to this beautiful, smooth work. We pluckers need to stick together.!

Very good played! really cool to have all the etudes in a single video, my favorite one is the number 7 Allegro but for some reason here is listed as the #9. I´m actually learning it hope i can record it soon.

I was interested in your fingering of No. 11. Many players play the first two notes of the second triplet of the piece with a double thumbing…you seem to use your thumb on the d-note, then your index on the second note of the triplet…I’ve noticed other players using double thumbing to play these two notes so I wonder why.
@MichaelBemmels

I think double thumbing would be fine if that feels natural for you. Personally I prefer to alternate fingers more often, and it allowed me to continue using the p-i-m-p pattern on many of the bass note figures in this etude.

Wonderful playing! I was mesmerised by your RH thumb damping every previously played bass string as soon as you hit a new bass note. Is that something you do automatically or do you have to consciously think about it? I ask because it's a technique I'm still trying to master.
@MichaelBemmels
@MichaelBemmels 3 жыл бұрын
Thanks for your comment! Initially I had to put in a lot of conscious effort to do the RH thumb damping, but now it mostly happens automatically. In some passages where the thumb is very active, or I notice some "muddy" sounds in the bass, I still have to analyze it carefully and put markings in my score to work out the damping.

You did a good job. However I had t0 increase the speed at 1.35 to hear the correct tempo. In other words, your play is quite low. Otherwise, I enjoyed it.
